We had the post radiotherapy and chemotherapy scan last week and update chat yesterday with the doctor. It wasn't great news and to be honest was about the worst news it could have been. The tumour has regrown and is now 3.6cm by 2.4cm plus another tumour next to it of 1cm ish. So they are talkingn about a third operation to remove as much as they can again. The chat with surgeon is next Wednesday and I imagine they'll want to operate as soon after, so probably last week in June? When we were meant to be on holiday in Kent with my parents. We'll have to see what happens to that. There we are, bumbling along thinking we were on a smooth section of road, Alex back to work etc and then this comes along to really fcuk us up again. Back in the dark days of feb I think we (me and the 4 parents) knew things weren't good and we were then pleasantly surprised at how things had improved where as Alex was positive from day one, so she's taken it REALLY bad, saying "I'm not gonna see my girls go to school am I?" Which is next September... That's tough, what do you say to that!? Thanks for your support, thanks for reading. Lee

Lee, really sorry to hear this. My missus has had her ups and downs with cancer over the past couple of years. I really believe the way forward is to keep thinking positively. My thoughts are with you, best wishes, Hairy.

Haven't met you Lee, hope to do so at the National. Your comment about your wife saying she won't see her girls go to school really brings a tear to the eye. My missus lost her mum when she was14 and her dad a few years ago, but treatment now is so much better and advancing every day. Keep strong. Sounds like you have a good family unit behind you.

:( So sorry to hear this Lee. Not sure what I can say other than keep hope. Nothing in life is guaranteed, not the good things or the bad things. So keep hope, its never completely hopeless.

Thanks for the messages and calls over the last few days folks thumbsup Find out tomorrow what the next steps are... I took the chance to go to the VX national over the weekend, I considered not going but what would that achieve? Alex already had her mum coming for the weekend, so she had company and I was able to escape for a few days. What's going on is never far from my mind even when hurtling round a track! I did have a fab weekend though.

The VX community is amazing, thank you for your support. Man hugs, handshakes, even the odd knowing wink and shrug, they all meant a lot over the weekend. Thankyou :grouphug:

Lee I really feel for you, your Mrs and the family as I am writing this my Mrs is still in theatre at the Freeman Newcastle since 8am today getting her kidney, bowel, spleen and bladder removed plus 3 tumours that's size of melons in a 15hr operation. She has a very type of cancer as only about 20 registered in the UK. This is number 22 operation in 23yrs and no treatment will improve or mend this type of cancer and to give you hope all I say is be very strong and positive in yourself (ITS NOT EASY) and this will pass on to your Mrs and take every day as it comes.

Jesus Christ :( Why does sh*t like this have to happen to loved ones? There are tough times, like when I put our twins to bed tonight and said that mummy and daddy love them lots. How will I be able to do that in future without mummy? Mummy is in hospital again, she's spent more time there over the last month since her 3rd tumour resection operation, than she has at home. The kids have been great, not once have they misbehaved or played up, they accept it and move on. Oh, to be an innocent kid again. Thoughts are with you buddy! :grouphug:

Only just read this. I'm sitting waiting for my boy (1 of 3) to finish his gymnastics class and your comments have chocked me up. Sitting with a tear in my eye. I wish this stuff didn't happen. Thoughts are with you.
