Christhegasman what sort off crack is that m8 if your gonna comment on my thread make sure it's not negative or have a word with ya self before you do. Heard all about no 16 the rest off the fellas thanks for the positive feedback just looking for a genuine car.

It wasn't Chris who commented on no16 mate,Chris is a great chap and I don't think I've ever read a negative comment from him. I bought my Vxr before joining up on here, and when I read the no 16 thread I was sooo glad I bought 47,no 16 is common knowledge on her but there's a lot of people who buy cars without reading up on forums,so I guess your in the best place to find a good one when it finally comes up for sale. Ps it'll be worth the wait. ;-)

One day, this will be mine..

Never realised the moonland has red seats?i guessed they would be grey? As the blue one came with blue and the yellow came with black I always pictured the moonland to come with black or grey? Looks good tho!

If you Arnt absolutely stuck on a vxr Sean is selling an immaculate one off turbo 2.2 which is well known on here and except the seats looks like a vxr 11k

Just out of curiosity, how come people are fixed on being a VXR? I personally could never ever justify the extra £7k+ for a limited edition status.. Please don't flame me!!

Joe public can't tell a VX turbo from a VXR so the only time that extra £££ brings you any kind of kudos is amongst us vx saddos. And frankly it doesn't buy you much.

Surely the vxr will go up in value a lot more than normal turbos in a good few years time though?

Looking at an Opel Manta TE2800 with a few dozen left (79 made in 1974) today doing about 20 to 30k pound it's a waiting game.

So only 30 years to go to cash in with those vxr's. (and paying for regular maintenance, storage and not putting to much miles on it)

I know what i prefer.

Chassis glue isn't rated as long as 30 years is it?

Lol you'd be surprised dude. The one I have at the moment is neither here nor there to me it will go when it goes. We all have a vested interest in maintaining value in the cars. My personal view on it is that I love the vx and just find it odd that people want to talk values down. It would be nice if a clam wasn't 50% of a cars value! This is on the whole a great forum but it's one of the areas where the lack of moderation has been a bit detrimental. If you remember on meganesport we stopped replies on cars for sale very early on for the same reason. That was probably you as well ;)

I sold my car in january. It went like this. i looked at the other cars for sale, dismissed the outliers and the price i asked for it was based on that information. When i was selling the buyer looked at the other cars for sale and decided that my car was worth what i was asking. People on here only impacted the value of my car if they were selling at the time. Price the cars too high and they will get uncomfortably close to elise territory and won't sell. I lost £7.5k in 9 years and 80k miles. The elise i was considering would have lost the same or more so I'm happy with the values. I know its tempting to think this forum is killing prices or we can positively influence prices but anything spoken on here is just internet bollocks I'm afraid!

How on earth do you come to that conclusion? I keep clicking on this thread & thinking, however I've not driven it in 4 months, I'll tax it again next weekend, use it a bit & then think about it again
