I don't understand the why someone would be that set on a VXR. The differences between that and a bog standard one are pretty small and wouldn't cost 8K to do. If you did really want to put heavier, uglier wheels than standard or aftermarket on it that would only cost you a few hundred if you sell on what's already on it. The engine differences are minimal and easily upgraded too, plenty of VXT's around already done. Seats, fairly pricey for what they are but still not 6k. Shocks.....well what ever's on it should have been refreshed/replaced by now. You can put superior ones on for 1-2K Badge? Get one on eBay. Tyres....well they're just tyres. A little bit of black paint here and there.....etc. Also hankering after low mileage car...well most VX's are low for their age. If you looking for 20k on - two year old car then that's a car that's not been used and could present more problems. Also I wouldn't want to drive a car in that condition for fear of spoiling it. A VX should be driven (and hard) IMO.

I understand why you want a VXR Tooshy.  Reason I got one is because they represent the best vx vauxhall did and are limited to just 60ish examples. They look better than other vx,s  IMO, hence why many copy the style. Interior is nicer too, not just the seats, though they are great and worth £1k used. Wheels I prefer and again will sell for £1k used though I accept standard speedlines are heavy if your tracking it, to overcome that if your lucky they did a few sets of the magnesium speedlines that are MUCH lighter if you ever come across them (about 2K).

Engine wise yes all VXT can be whatever you want them to be and depend purely on how much money you want to throw at it.

If you have your heart set on one then don,t listen to what other people think you should do, your paying extra to have something different to an already rare breed and as I always say do what makes YOU happy, for most of us buying a car like these is a very personal thing so if your happy with the deal you one day find then thats all that really matters.

I would add though that if you are planning on modifying the engine you would save a good deal of money paying more for one that has already been done. I soon got bored with 220bhp but thats just me.

I agree with Peter in that you stick to your guns and but what you want. Its your money. I had a VXT which I sold a few years ago but always wanted a VXR. A few have gone to the great scrapyard in the sky so you would probably be one of 50 persons out of seven billion in the world to own one. if it was a Ferrari it would be worth a million quid.

However I also agree with P11 COV point about not wanting to spoil it. I would like to mod mine but to me its a bit sacrilege as imho these rare cars should be kept as standard as possible. I wish I had a third garage or else I would seriously consider buying a stage 4 (or a supercharged n/a) for the real thrills.

I wonder how many of the VXR's low mileage standard cars are out there. Mine is just over 16k miles.

Peter every thing you said is spot on there mate. Zaff your car lools spot on in the pictures and like you said mate i bet theres not many left like yours standard and a good suspension choice as an extra. I would pay a little more for a modified one but like zaff said alot off people like standard ones. No matter how much you spend on a car you will never get your money back but like you say a little bit extra over a standard one!

Has to be vxr thanks for the heads up tho m8

But why? I've never understood why people are willing to pay £x,000 more for a VXR220 when you could buy a VX220 Turbo with a £300 remap which would work the same. Edit: Ooops, just read the last couple of pages and see that I've just repeated a common point of view from other members.
