Hi Neil,

All valid points and if you want a replacement piece for the bonet we can come to an arrangement. I'd rather you were happy with it and your car was covered

As for the bonet lip, yes it is by far the toughest of the pieces but a hair dryer to heat it up, or even on a hot day will make the material extremely flexible to allow it to bend over the curves with out too much trouble. It is the only piece out of all of them which will need a some patience, the VX is particularly square on all the other panels. As for bubbles and alcohol solution, using alcohol will just allow the solution to dry quicker, great if you are experience, not so much if you are not. using soap and water will allow you to keep moving it around until you are happy with it's placement and then proceed to squeeze the solution out. If you had used alcohol you may find that it had dried and started to cure the adhesive before you had finished with the positioning.

As for bubbles and clouding etc, this will dry out over a few hours. If anyone else who has fit these ( good or bad experience ) wants to chime in to offer others advice, please do.

Thanks Sean,

I found this online:

http://multimedia.3m...TSevTSeSSSSSS--

As I said, the headlight went on spot on, and I am sure this is to do with the design of your cutouts which allowed it to flex around the contours.

It seem that the longer it stayed on the car the more bubbles that formed and I did not want to risk it fully drying and taking the paint with it on removal as I am not sure of the quality of the underlying paint.

Also read online that alcohol solution should be used when applied.

NO NEVER...UNLESS PROFESSIONAL

Four hours later more bubbles appeared, so rather than risk it, I just removed it it and kept the headlights.

1 WEEK LATER YOU SHOULD STILL BE ABLE TO CLEAR THE BUBBLES HOWEVER SMALL, HAIRDRYER AND CREDIT CARD

I think that the stickers showing location too should be easier to remove as well.

USE A FLAT edge of STANLEY KNIFE, THE MATERIAL IS MUCH MORE PLAYABLE THAN YOU THINK

Not big waste of £ but not 100% satisfied that this is a simple project.

ALLOW AT LEAST A WHOLE DAY, OR 1- 2  HOURS PER PIECE, WITH LOTS AND LOTS OF SOAPY WATER.Have a spray gun ready to use all the time,  IF UNHAPPY THEN START AGAIN, MATERIAL IS MUCH MORE PLAYABLE THAN YOU REALISE. IF STILL DAMP IT CAN BE TAKEN OFF ONLY WHEN HAIRDRYER AND MOST BUBBLES ARE OUT YOU HAVE TO BACK OFF, BUT WATER AND HAIRDRYER WILL TAKE MATERIAL OFF THE BODY WITHOUT ANY HARM TO THE PAINT

As for bubbles and clouding etc, this will dry out over a few hours. If anyone else who has fit these ( good or bad experience ) wants to chime in to offer others advice, please do.

ALLOW LOTS AND LOTS OF TIME

USE LOTS AND LOTS OF SOAPY WATER, BE PATIENT AND DO IT IT IN ENCLOSED ARAE WITHOUT ANY WIND TO ALLOW EASE OF HANDLING PARTS, HAVE ALL STUFF AT HAND, HAIRDRYER, SPONGE, SPRAY BOTTLE, ETC

Front bonnet and rear view mirrors do last as they are the trickier bits so get used to handling and fixing on easier bits

hh

Anyone able to post up some pictures of these fitted?

Maybe a DIY guide with photos might be helpful?

Afternoon guys,

I have had a few PM's to do some work but just simply havent had time to reply. I'll leave a quick message here.  I currently don't have any time but if people could start a list it will be easier for me to look at and maintain. Turn around certainly wont be quick but I'll try my best and PM people when I'm able to . I'll start the list, if you want something, add your name to it. Cheers guys and sorry for the slow comms.

Just to add, because I'm no longer home at the weekend I might need to put the prices up slightly to cover the postage of the material. During the week I used to be able to collect as the distributor was local. It's only £10 for delivery or so but if someone wants one piece it ends up pricey so waiting until theres a few people with pieces wanted would benefit everyone
