Arrrrggghh! Battery bad so jump started and left running for 20mins or so. Just driving the car around the block and the engine cuts out, all lights and electrics DEAD. Can't see any reason, battery leads seam ok, all fuses in front and main 5A in rear ok. Try jump start again but nothing, no electrics. If connected to other cars battery the alarm will sound but I can't disable! HELP

Sounds like your battery or poor connection, Double check battery terminals they are sh*t, You will need the fob to disarm the alarm Have you tried startingbon the other battery after disarming the alarm??

Yeah it's the battery connection!!! Had to wiggle it to death but it worked. Can't beat a good vigorous wiggle Cheers all

It's happened to me, complety cut out with nothing at all, open bonnet and tighten connections and all should be well.

If this is the same battery you had in it before you started all the work I would go and get a new one anyway for good measure

Yeah probably is due for new! I have a similar thing to that installed in my passenger footwell. It uses a simple key. I put it in to fully disconnect the battery easily to help prevent battery drain in times of little use. And to stop dad borrowing the car when I wasn't looking!

the alarm and key fob are just there to make a noise , they do not stop you starting and driving the chip in the key does that
