Ordered a CS Lightened flywheel today but not going to turn up until Monday!! Was a pain the clutch!

Anyone got a new one floating about I could exchange when mine turns up Monday?

Got engine and gearbox out today not split it yet that's tomorrow job. Along with some other stuff. Couple of things I want to do while I have some time waiting for my flywheel. 1. Move ECU (Can someone point me to a how to or give me some advice) 2. Sort out the carbon canister pipework (any downside to doing this?) Also any how to? 3. Remove the Headrest lumps of metal behind the seats. 4. Clean up engine bay and general clean up of parts to re-fit.

1. Why? JG had a good solution for mounting his ECU, see his project thread

3. There's lots of topics on this both for and against. A lot of people advise against this due to the assumption that they were put in for safety reasons to protect the head/neck from rear impacts. Do some reading on this before you make the decision, lots of info on the forum.

4. The padding on the firewall comes up nicely after a good jetspray. Definitely a good time to take it off and clean it while the engine is out. Get your subframe powder coated too

All I'll say is the Elise that broke my neck didn't have said metal bits Matt. I'm not saying it would have been different in a VX but mine are 110% staying

Engine now out and gearbox is off. Tripped off all the parts I need to swap over and have cleaned up most parts ready for installation.

Next thinks on the list

Clean Gearbox and fit new salve cylinder

Once Flywheel turns up need to build up with clutch and fit to engine.

Clean Engine bay

Decide whether or not to move ECU ready for Supercharging at a later date.

Decide what to do with carbon canister and pipework.

Load more apart from this I'm sure

Always leave the gearbox in, and strip all the ancillaries off. Just leave the egr cheater plugged in until you go Dutch if monies tight dude

Which way around does the oil cooler go? The one I took off didn't have the water flow sticker on. Plus didn't take any pics of his part and where the oil pipes go.

In fear of the 'while your there' factor getting out of hand, is it worth looking at the subframe join and sorting that? Seeing as the engine/gear box are out. Unless you have already done it in your rebuild of the car. Looking good though!
