Hi -

I'm a nearly owner.  Looking to buy the Black NA from Pistonheads.  The car looks great and the seller seems an honest owner.  Is the car known to anyone?

I'm looking to get some new alloys (any recommendations) and do the bits that seem to be common on VX.

Any advice for you guys would be great.  I've read in this months Evo mag that you're a fountain of knowledge.

Thanks

Looks like a tidy VX, i'd say the price is a bit high given the milage but not significantly.

This could be the one I've seen heading to work on the odd morning. If it is then it's quite local to me.

Thanks for looking - I'm  learning about these cars so any info you can give is great.  I'll only be doing cosmetic things myself and will go to an expert for anything mechanical.

Any thoughts on those wheels.  I've seen lots of pictures and the black wheels really finish the cars off.

Team Dynamics 1.2 are almost universally used as they're a good price, can be had in the right sizes and are lightweight.

Most people who run the VX on track go for the team dynamics pro race 1.2 wheels, 16" on the front, 17" rear.

I prefer the satin black finish to the gloss black, although to be honest once they get covered in brake dust they look the same.

Almost has become the standard mod for trackday use. But you have to run the car quite low or it looks a bit daft (imho).

ATS DTCs are also very nice wheels, if you like a slightly fatter stance (17" all round)

Or you can go with the Speedlines (standard on the the VXR) again 16" front 17" rear

I think these wheels suit the VX best.

Thanks WrightStuff & fazzasus.  This is perfect.  I can see a set of those Speedlines on the Bay however I'm gonna be cautious as there's got to be a reason why that tyre has a whole in it... I'm a fan of the Team Dynamics which is a bonus as they're cheap enough... Better start saving again.

Really looking forward to getting the car.  Picking it up next week.  I'm going from a Fiesta Metal so the extra speed will be welcome.

Happy days..

Hi - Well it's happened.. I'm no longer new to VX 200.. I picked mine up tonight from Preston.  Had a 2 hour drive home and loved it...

Couple of questions...

Presuming you're all into Yoga.  How else do you get into these cars?  Which DVD do you recommend.  I'm going for that chubber from Eastenders.

Offside front headlamp bulbs need replacing.  Is it easy enough.  Not actually looked as yet.

Anything else that I need to do or check.  Spotted the fuel line thread.  I'll check this tomorrow.

Thanks all.  Looking forward many happy miles...

Great Stuff.

I thought everybody got in the same way?...one foot in the footwell, lower arse onto seat, flick the other leg over ? Reverse to get out.

Do NOT put your weight on the centre part of the sill.

Plus before you get out push the drivers seat back.  If you have the soft top on, just unclip and roll across the drivers side which allows you a bit of room to get in.  Does take time to get used to it.

Welcome. You will get used to getting in and out; just keep practicing.

Lovely colour

I bought mine about a year ago, same colour (no surprise) mileage and from the advert same set up as yours.

before And after

I've done a few mods since then and black wheels definitely improve the look in my opinion.

Just be careful and get used to the power and be extra careful if driving when its wet.

Enjoy!

I know what you mean.  The seller took me out as a test drive scared the cr@p out of me.  It was a little embarrassing explaining to my dad why I was crying.

My wife is a professional photographer so insisted she got up earlier this morning to take some pictures.  Deeply happy with my new car.  It's hugely impractical but will make me happy every time.

Any thoughts on that headlight?  My dad (who gave me a lift for the car) was in front and said it sometimes worked.  I'm thinking a dodgy earth but not looked as yet

Good time ahead. :)

Thanks guys for your welcomes and advice.  Another problem has just occurred.  My wife took a test run in the car and truly loved.  This is a disaster as she is now gonna give me hell when she wants to drive it to work. She loved it so much she took off and didn't come back for 30 mins.

Possible solutions...

1 - Leave her.

2 - Kill her.

3 - Keep her hidden (and chained) in the cellar.

4 - Buy her one of her own.....!

Yip - She's hooked and looking for one of her own.  Back on the search for another one now.  These cars are truly amazing.

Wait till a rainy and cold day, and the car will be yours again.
