Right you orrible lot. I have compiled the posts and PM's I got over the past few days into a list (yes you love those dont you, you dirty people). These are the first 10 to get a resistor based unit direct from me. I will mass PM you folks. I did say in the instructions that it gets very hot No different to the lambda sensor heater but thats in the exhaust anyway.

Would a larger wattage resistor help with the heat?

not really... its dumping 8-9W regardless of if you fit a 25W/50W/100W/1000W jobbie. you just need to dump the heat somewhere..
Yes the ali plate helps keep the resistor under its max limits in free air, I did that so that you lot shouldnt toast the resistor but it does need mounting somewhere sensbile (as laid out in the instructions)
thats not to say, dont try a bigger one
