Hence why I ended up going for retrimmed standard seats with harness holes cut out.

Not worth asking corbeau for a run of seats to our trim spec? Limit it to leather or cloth, black with coloured stitching choice. No corbeau logo but a vx220 logo etc? And we definitely think these are the way forward in terms of fit but need to sort runners? Cheers, Lee

Corbeau want their seats to go out with their logo.

There is a possibility of a group buy, but would need some firm numbers before it could go ahead. I'd say approaching five pairs.

List (add yourself to it if you would want a pair of chairs for somewhere hopefully just under £800)

It's annoying that nothing seems to be easy with the seats!! I also thought like Techie and much prefered the New LE Pro to the olds ones. If its £900 For 2 seats, plus messing around with subframes, plus getting them retrimmed....thats going to be well over 2k!! Maybe, if they fit OEM subframes the DTT ones seem the easiest route.... Man, that is a sh*t ton of money for 2 seats....

DTT's seats will also now be well over £2k.

The Corbeaus, fully re-trimmed by DTT and allowing £300 for subframes will be around £1,800 (less if we get a group buy going)

:yeahthat:

I'd be interested pending a subframe solution and fixed final cost.

I'm not sure that option exists. Every seat option seems to rely on new subframes or varying degrees of pain tweaking the fit of the new seat to the existing VX subframes, whatever the manufacturer. They either rely on S1 (in the case of Corbeau and Reverie) or S2 Exige subframes (and even then there are variations in the Lotus subframes that might mean getting new ones).

The real problem is, every VX220 compatible seat has really been designed for an Elise/Exige of either S1 or S2 flavour and they have different subframes to us with, at the very least, double shear side brackets. Even in Elise/Exiges the fit isn't always straightforward unless you have or buy the exact matching subframe for the seat carcass.

The plan is for MB to offer a fitting solution for these. I'm also happy to investigate whether DTT would be up for a slightly discounted re trimming price based on a group option. And I should have confirmation this week as to how much the final price of seats direct from Corbeau will be

Matt and I will work to come up with a plug and play solution then. A package price of 2 seats with whatever is needed to fit it into a Vx.

I was planning to get a pair of these later for when I eventually get my car back on the road. Would be rude not to join the GB list at that price. Standard trim as pictured in Matt's earlier post would be ideal... much better than the original version. I still have the Lotus Motorsport passenger seat fixed subframe from when I had the VXR style seat fitted at Lotus. Would just need to sort a driver side adjustable version.

Right I'm literally about to head to the airport on holiday for a few days, but will no doubt be monitoring this while away. In the meantime I'll ask MB to continue his queries with Corbeau and to investigate a subframe/fitting solution. We'll come back to you with final costs for each element and as a package when we have confirmation.

To help tempt some people, I know MB is confident we'll be talking about a 10-15% discount as a minimum even with just the three of is interested in a pair each. The more people signing up the more potential for this discount to go even further.

Ok, I'll sign up. I want a pair of seats, and then want door cards, shoulder pads etc to match. On phone so can't sort list.

I don't think you need to check. I don't think anyone is in a rush.
