Should be ok
But it's a bit heavy

I have something similar to that as a catch can but I think you'll want a proper oil separator if you're plumbing it into your inlet.  Those really dont catch that much TBH.

No idea on the dip stick idea I'm afraid.

Total seal rings help reduce crank case pressures at high loads but they do cause some pulsing at idle.

That's why I wanted to drain it straight back in

Cant say I blame you!

I might be being old skool on the separator but have a look at some V8 stuff.  They have maze type separators and swirl type separators which might suit what you're after better.  Jegs, earls and morosso might be good brands to search on for a starting point.

I wouldn't drain it back into the sump. The contents of every catch tank I've seen on an SC car have been mostly oily condensed water and if the "drain" is at the bottom, it's just going to deposit water back into the sump.

Is the water coming from condensation from the cold catch tank??

Ok so I will need to empty tank instead of draining it back it So is my best solution Cam cover to catch tank catch tank to pre throttle body and empty regular and replace the oil

I've got an oil separator from a V8 M3 in the garage that routes the sh!t through three separate centrifuge type chambers. Got a solenoid (or some form of electricery) on it that I wasn't sure what to do with though.

No problem draining water back into the sump. The sump temperature is intended to evaporate water off, however the catch here is it will then come out as vapour in the PCV and be re-condensed and drained back in, effectively refluxing.

Trying to get my head around this as I don't want the same issue... Is this specific to the B207 or is it a z22se problem too?

If Z22se as well, can the same 'solution' be taken (cam cover to catch tank to pre TB inlet pipe)?

Right ok I'm happy to empty it regularly Any ideas of how regular ?? I will also put a baffle in the catch tank not very big

Just as much of a problem on the Z22SE.

The most effective aftermarket separators I've seen have something that looks like those weird metal pan scourer pads in them to separate the oil out of the air. Stuff like this:

Not sure there's any defined drain period. It'll depend on the size of the tank and how much sh*t your car is venting. I know of one SC car that needed it's (probably) 1/2 litre tank draining once a trackday. Luckily, you've got a sight glass on the side of your's, so as long as it's mounted somewhere you can see it, you'll easily be able to tell.

That's probably why you don't want a cold metal tank there. Keep the stuff warm and the oil should seperate from the water vapour.

(I would stick to OEM kind of oil seperators, like the BMW one)

Just to clear things up a little for any future searches, PCV valve open on inlet manifold ( Dutch software ) Pipe from cam cover to catch tank Catch tank to pre throttle body to create vacuum at high loads Check catch tank as regular as checking oil levels
