Ipswich Waterfront is a good place for a meal on a summers evening We will be leaving Calais area shortly so, after a lunch stop, should arrive in Zandvoort mid afternoonNicely tucked up at travel lodge near Ipswich after a meal down at the marina. Who's was the red VX on a,trailer I just passed?

The french can't organise a p*ss up in a brewery. Too many youths with walkie talkies slowing the loading process.
Yesterday;
After 30 minutes in a queue to load,
Youth " yoor coor eezz tooo low' - talk into radio
Me, it's fine, just let me on
Youth - talks to radio
Me, I know it's OK, been on loads of times
Youth - talks to radio
Youth - eet eez yooor rezponzibility
Me, yes OK, let's get on with it
Youth - yoo will haave noo claim eef yuuur car heets the bottom
Me (thinks - if you could see the bottom of my car ) yes fine, let's go...
Youth - talks to radio - OK
Another ten minutes delay for everyone behind

Well that was an EPIC 24 hrs
. Holland rocks and I am desperate to go back. 5oc and I packed in around 700 miles in 24hrs and whilst I am sure Mark is knackered after all that driving, it was well worth it. Zandvoort is an awesome place. 30 deg heat, hotel 100yds from track entrance, bars and restaurants coming out your arse, stunning sandy beach, the Dutch are just fab people. Cold beer and good food. I was in my element.
Fantastic company as always and the banter was upto its highest standard as usual. I will upload the link to some mind numbing videos of cars whizzing along (looks slow in the vids but that stretch is upto about 130mph) and photos all taken form my phone but you get the idea.
No major casualties but I think PeterVXR's car was problematic sadly but all attempts to get a spare failed oh and Pidgeon might have knackered something (apart from UK/Dutch relations that is) and Lee had a few misfire issues.
Some beautiful cars on track including F430 Fezza, TVR tuscan and a race prepped Sagaris, countless Lotus obvioulsy, VXs and Speedsters galore and a few Porkers.
Zandy, I love ya : :
Highlights below -
The Paddock
Exmantaa and Lee

Track distance from hotel
Ready for action
This was such a sad thing. White Exige parked some 25 ft behind this speedster was started I think with the car in gear (presume with no handbrake on) and the Exige just gunned forward and no joke kissed the rear clam and look what happens. Very sad for all concerned.
My chariot for the journey. God bless airconned seats and the back massager.
As I say lots of car shots and videos here http://s1180.photobu.../Zandvoort 2014 very weird ones of my feet and my room but you get the idea people

I almost did the very same thing in the registration car park at Bedford Autodrome, some years back. Went into the briefing, came out, opened the drivers door lent into the car and pressed the starter button whilst talking to someone and off the car goes, straight towards an S1 Exige parked opposite me. Somehow, miraculously, I managed to get one leg into the car and even more miraculously managed to get my size 11 onto the brake pedal first time. Stopped about a foot away from the Exige's front clam. Never made that mistake again since.

You would think every tracker would be using one of these, yet first gear parking is still very popular.

I hadn't even made it to the track, when it almost happened to me, we were still outside the track. Sods law says you'd have the wheel chock on the wrong side of the tyre anyway.

Wow, what a set up. Surely that is the best track / hotel / bars and restaurants set up in Europe. Next year for definite!
I can not tell you just how cool the place is. Of course 30 deg weather helped but it is just awesome.
