Need some help in tracking a part number down if they are even available and if the Lotus version does not fit.

The rubber seal that goes over the part of the door that the wing mirror joins onto. Mine have been tiger sealed on and are basically falling to pieces.

Lotus part number 10 here

http://www.deroure.c...&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0

B1117 code so unsure if it will fit the vx.

It will fit, they are the newer 'cheater seal' which has an extra lip on the inside to limit water ingress.

Oh.. And they are not supposed to be fitted with tigerseal/sikaflex but with Loctite 382 and an activator (lotus uses a wipe-down with Permabond A905). Basically a cyanoacrylate/superglue type that's a bit more viscous than the normal stuff and the activator makes it cure over larger bond gaps.

See page 18 here:

Bye, Arno.

Cheers for the extra info Arno!

I presumed they'd have the sticky backing like the roof seals.

After using the expensive, Lotus specific glue, I can say that the normal superglue will do, as long as you get the gel.

I used the B&Q own stuff prior to buying the lotus stuff, I actually found the B&Q stuff better.

Just don't glue your fingers together or to the bodywork, the stuff sets fast once you apply some pressure! :D

Bye, Arno.
