Nice 172 Cup, these are a bargain!
I had mine for 3 years and other drivers dont really expect the perfomance.

Thanks, yeah i must admit i didn't know just how quick they were! Trying to keep spending to an absolute minimum just so we can keep it as cheap fun without getting too serious!
We've just entered our first event! Very excited / nervous as i've never driven on grass before, anyone have any advice lol!??

Only thing I found expensive running a Track clio 182 cup were the price of brake pads
140 for a pair of DS3000's (discs were only 40 quid)

Yours looks lovely!
Pretty annoyed about our Clio now! I want it tidier but my brother doesn't seem too bothered! I may have a go at spraying the bumpers myself. I've wanted to do spraying for a while now anyway so i suppose it's a good opportunity. Has anyone had much experience with spraying? I have access to a large garage where i could hang plastic sheeting but I'm not sure about the prep etc.

I had a 172 cup and sold it after 9 months
never liked it, loads of problems and rattles and poor quality feeling gearbox
Was good on fuel though and would make a good cheap/fast/fun buy these days but I paid a fair amount with only 20k on the clock yet the exhaust rusted off (fell off) after 20k, 2 sets of shocks all round by then, rattles, turn over 3 seconds before starting, did I mention it rattled LOL and then rattled more. £500+ for the cam belt
Just didn't get on with mine,

Been busy working on the Clio this week, after the accident it needed new lights so sourced and fitted them, amazing what a difference they make to the cars appearance, and they were dirt cheap too!
The next problem was the leaking tyres, the wheels were in such bad condition that they leaked air, I don't think the stretched tyres were helping either so we bought some wider 205/45/R16's and got the wheels refurbished at "The Wheel Specialist" in Bournemouth. Then got the tracking set up professionally after the new track rod ends were changed. It wasn't quite right after we had a go at doing it.
The front number plate was all cracked so we got a new small plate for the front too. Oh and i don't like chrome so i sprayed the badge black.
Next job is to fit the rear engine mount bushes, we went for the uprated "Powerflex" ones.
We found out yesterday that the grass slalom event we had booked for Sunday has now been cancelled because the field is completely waterlogged. Bit of a shame but we're probably not quite ready anyway,
What do you think?
