Having read through all the previous posts, Can somebody put it in basic terms, do they work on track? Where can I get one that just bolts on if they work?

Probably does sweet fa. Its too low down and out of the airflow really to do anything. Mainly for show.

Have you got an NA ? The turbo clam has the holes predrilled to mount the spoiler but of course the NA doesn't so you would have to drill your own.

Post in wanted or buy from vauxhall, autovaux, ElizP987.

I have one in black unpainted plastic that I'm toying with fitting. Do these get fitted unpainted, as with the front splitters or do they come painted as standard?

Sorry didn't make it clear, was referring to the high wing spoilers not the turbo ones

I'd imagine the flex in the rear claim would make it pointless, unless you connect it to the chassis somehow.

'Wings' work. To what degree depends on how high you've mounted it, how big it is etc.

The most common option is to fit the exige gt4 'pramhandle' wing. Available from EliseParts.

How well this works in practice is not really known. It definitely does something on the exige because its been wind tunnel tested but the exige and the VX are not the same shape so the airflow is different.

You will have to trim the mounts down to still be able to use the boot and drill holes in the clam for fixings.

If I were you I'd get a gurney flap on the back. I think you can get self adhesive ones you can stick on the rear edge with no drilling etc.

Sorry to keep the focus on the standard turbo wing, I just bought one a few hours ago from ebay. I have seen a mention of a "gasket" to fit it, is this the case and are they available from Vauxhall still?

If it really does anything even if 1% more then im happy, who knows, but I think it looks good fitted.

Don't forget the rest of the car setup, i.e front splitter, shocks, tyres, brakes etc

Looks good! Your pic has answered my question re. Boot spoiler; mine will look better oriented, definitely.

There's some pics of mine in this thread.  However, your prerequisite of 'bolt-on' might be a bit tough to meet.  Wings like these require some bracing to the clam (although I believe tubby clams are stiffened) to tranfer any effect to the subframe and subsequently to the wheels.  From what I have seen this has all been home made and is often cut through the clam.

The tech spec I got with mine states (from memory) that there is 40kgs of down force at approx 100 mph.

Of course you could make a custom bracket inside the boot that sits between the subframe and the spoiler.

That way you only drill a few holes in the clam for the spoiler mount, versus cutting complete slots for the brackets like in pics above.

edit: different type of spoiler mount for those though. (compared to above pixies)

I forgot that turbo clams are reinforced. That explains why my spoiler stays on at high speed. In that case Krusty completely ignore what I told you at Bedford as you have an N/A clam.

Really?

Are you sure?

I thought the only difference between tubby and NA clams, is the boot aperture.

Pretty sure there should be a brace between the inside of the clam and the boot floor to transfer the massive downforce pressures :ninja:

My TMS one had a suitably gash effort

Your completely right..

My gash effort, although it does the job and i can still use most of the boot.
