I used the list added a few years ago by someone on here, while looking for a competitive quote to the Chris Knott renewal figure. I was drawing mostly blanks because of my 10k miles per year. Most quotes were around £700. I contacted HIC (Herts Insurance, somehow connected to Adrian Flux) and was quoted £40 less for the year. The customer service assistant, Alice, was helpful and knowledgeable and helped me get to a point where I was more than ready to drop the Knott. The reason I was more than happy to move was twofold; one, Chris Knott do not quote competitively until you provide proof of a lower quote and two, they charge £15 administration fee to send you out some paperwork. I told them too; hopefully they'll switch on to the fact that the practise is damaging their rep.
