From just us to you can see advantage of more flow

You're almost as preliminairy as me now :D Let's wait for a few more.
You should really note ambient temps as well then - a cool day is obviously going to give lower IATs than a warm one.. I wonder how much use these reading will actually be without a complete picture. And even then there's so many variables..

That's not how it work's here.

It's almost winter, so we draw preliminairy conclusions, build a list and start buying stuff

Yes good point. Worth just posting the power run results as they include the relevant variables.

Faulty map sensor maybe, when my map sensor failed it read boost correctly, and temps fluctuate between 65c and 85c, but starting it up cold and seeing 85c gave it away

Which pump smiley

Given the very low weight of the small PAD pumps, would it be beneficial to flow to install a second pump at the front of the car..? Perhaps on the return line to the laminova's..

The relatively long and convoluted flow path of the cooling system will obviously result in some significant pumping losses..

Just a thought.

bear in mind that for the Bosch 0261230042 Tmap sensor the temperature sensor has a step response time (63% from t1 to t2) about 10 seconds, the pressure sensor about 1ms

Rather than clogging up sworks project thread I'm after getting information of SC IAT Can you post Type of rad Type of CCpump ( flow rate ) Single pass or dual pass And some logs or temps expiereicing

Presumably you need a tmap sensor to contribute to this? Or are you happy with standard map sensor equipped cars?

Bit of an update.

Turns out the relay for the charge cooler pump was failing which I believe explains the high temps. Full story here and here

Tonight after bypassing the relay I was seeing much lower temps on the motorway.

Cruising was solid 37 degrees and rose and dropped with acceleration and deceleration much quicker than it was before.

While this is still comparatively high, it's better than the 60s-70s I was getting previously.

But one thing bothers me...

After the first session I could barely take the cap off CC tank (Pro Alloy type in engine bay) it was so hot and saw some steam/vapour when I took the cap off.The sides of the CC tank were to far to hot to touch.

After I got the pump running the CC tank was barely hot at all, even when checked straight after coming off track.

There's a lot of heat going somewhere!

My conclusion from this is the charge coolant is adsorbing a lot of heat from the engine bay via the ally CC tank.

Looking at the IATs, at least 20 degrees worth.(if that's actually a valid way to describe it)

So Smiley and Chris were on the right track about the bigger pumps and lower IATs, but not from removing more heat from the intake air but from what the CC tank is absorbing. (and maybe the pipes and CC carrying bits)

I guess CS were onto something with the CC tank in the boot.

I'll try get some power runs this week to compare with my previous ones from a few weeks back.

May even need to do a new set of fuel learns given such a big difference.

These electric pumps do have a limited life span, I wonder how many charge cooler pumps are actually working.

There are in line flow meters that can tell you if it's working, or I guess a system to measure resistance across the pump. I'll have a play and see where I get to
