Didn't look at any of the manufacturers stands, except Lotus and was rather depressed at what I saw, a stand with only 3 cars on it and it  was so bland it was embarrassing.

Hardly any signage and all the staff totally uninterested in talking to anyone unless you went up and badgered them. Is this a sign??!!

tbh when we went 2 years ago, the Lotus stand wasnt that much better... it was Bigger but still the same old stuff on it.

They simply dont have anything new in terms of model or product.

Bet it was the same disheartened and uninterested bunch that were showing three cars off at Canary Expo. Was there a black Lp1 or whatever its called there?

Yes the limited edition LF1 @ circa £68k. The Lotus stand was markedly better on previous years. The stand wasn't in the thick of it either so they went for a cheap plot too. Lotus were never any good on the marketing front IMHO.

I remember when the 300 BHP Esprit came out in about 1992, they displayed a bright yellow one in the City and you couldn't get near the thing due to crowds. In those days a 300 BHP Esprit was one of the fastest things on the road, nowadays it would be considered "luke warm" ; it just shows how far cars have come in 22 years.

I'm sure this thread will get some hits if the up coming Lotus factory tour is as down beat?

Ha! I was there on the Thursday for mooch round the stands and paddock, etc to avoid the crowds and back again on the weekend for the actual hill action. My mate asked if the Lotus stand was any good and I said they weren't even there. Where were they hiding then? Thought I'd covered everywhere though (gladly) I hadn't gone looking for lotus.

you had to look really hard. They only had the Lotus roundels up and they weren't very big. They were over towards the track to and not where all the other car manufacturers were.
