Good spot Mark, here is the link: http://www.halfords....l-diesel-oil-4l I find it a bit thin in my engine, but would be great for most VXTs I think.

Where's it say the free 1 litre?

These 4 litre bottles really annoy me. Especially when the Halfords containers are actually 5 litre size but just have 4 litres in them.

This page has it on the advert at the top. Going to pop through to halfords in a min and get some for the vx so will confirm it. http://www.halfords....ine-oils-fluids

Cancel that. That may mean they'll put it in the car for you. I'm sure it said on the PH thread though. Trying to find it.

Found it. Yes looks like they'll just tip it in your engine for free. Bit of a price increase then as the offer was £10 for 4 litres last time.

Not much good if you don't need a top up.

Just realised I've still got 3 cans from the last halfords offer anyway so I'll give this a miss.

:yeahthat:

I have had a look in my handbook and the recommended oils are 10W 40 or 5W 40. However I don't understand all the other numbers

mentioned in the book. What is the significance of synthetic and non-synthetic as well. At the moment I am using 10W 40 part synthetic from Halfords. However I am due a service shortly and this would be ideal.

BTW am I right on saying the amount of oil required is 5.5L for the NA?

I said we needed a tagging feature to tag members in posts. The fully synthetic one from halfords is what I currently have in. Still have 2 litres left from last time so will just need another one to do an oil change after blyton this Saturday and before Zandvoort.

I also have the fully synthetic in my NA. It meets all the latest specs and works well in a vectra engine..

Just a note. Bought 8 litres and it's £11.40 for 4 using a trade card.
