This crack appeared the other day on my drivers side mirror pillar :   https://www.dropbox....6c/DSC01771.JPG   wondering how it got there ? someone thumped the mirror ? stress crack due to driving repeatedly at 'some miles per hour' :-)   doesnt seem loose if i waggle it a bit - worth reparing ?

:yeahthat:

If it does, open it up then squirt in some structural adhesive.

I'm sure that is normal... It's where the door skin meets the door panel. There is normally a body coloured sticker over the top.

Hard to tell because of the reflections but it looks much more like a surface crack to me. It runs down nearer the middle and has a much more jagged line than those straight cut protective vinyl pieces.

In the op pic, the cut vinyl is missing. Go and have a look at your doors, they should have the vinyl piece. I wonder if the op compared his two doors the other one should have the vinyl.

great info - thanks - spot on - sticker missing from drivers side due to recent re-spray of the door. Present on passenger side.

(crack doesn't widen under pressure)

Don't suppose you can get a replacement sticker ? otherwise guess a bit of black vinyl will do....
