Jimmy won his Time Attack class with a stage 2 plus a little bit (then a box standard Stage 2 after the engine swap) SC car, the year he entered. The opposition in Club RWD might have upped their game a bit since Mike did the same to them the following year, before moving up to Club Pro.

It's mainly fun, but I believe next season I could be competitive. I'm not on a physical budget as such.. More of a moral one (and a girlfriend one!!) so I'm sure once I do the end of season race this year I will end up going all out! I have full FIA gear, helmet, suit, gloves etc so no cost there. I would budget around 10k (once the car is done) IMO
If you have that sort of budget and aren't attached to a particular car, why don't you race?

It might be wise to speak to MaxR on here. His car is regarded as one of the quickest M62 SC'd track cars and he was talking about selling it a while back. It's not a road legal car but has had a lot of money put into making it reliable.

To be competitive in Club RWD FI you will need to be 300 BHP plus as we saw in 2012. We started the season at 280 stage 3 M62 but had to deploy weapon X (Nick B's Harrop) to lift the title.
Having said that. I think an M62 powered car with the right chassis like we had in 2013 would have a shout.
Scuffers, Club Calsses run FWD and RWD so not up against Euro boxes. Cars to beat this year are a Noble and the RX7.
J13ME, very happy to help out where I can or you can buy my car for £22K..!

Looking at the sheets from last year at croft..

Where would me doing a 1:39 in a std NA VX have put me?
I honestly think if you gave me half the cars that turned up at the nationals, I could easily have posted a class winning time, (and no I am not Lewis Hamilton)

I hear a challenge being made.

Sorry, that was not what I was getting at.. My point is that you don't need that much of a VX to win club class. Realistically, a well setup VX with ~200+ hp should cut it...I hear a challenge being made.I honestly think if you gave me half the cars that turned up at the nationals, I could easily have posted a class winning time, (and no I am not Lewis Hamilton)

I know it wasn't but thought I'd stir the pot anyway.
Would be interesting to see a highly tuned NA with a decent driver in it having a crack though.

That was last year and so old news. The Noble has raised the bar considerably this year.
