I'm gonna OHW with 250bhp then! Hoping to make silverstone but that's a tall order to find, buy and build it in like 6 weeks! I'm buying some cut wet slicks from Chris and will stick them on the TD's so fingers crossed for a little rain haha

Basically.. 2.2 SC obviously.. Stage 3. I know numbers are pub talk but 300bhp sounds nice. Meth injection Properly set up suspension. (Nitron) Lose any carpets or extra fat. Carbon. I like carbon! tarty I know but.. ;) Wheels.. Wets - TD 1.2's 16/17 with Dunlop cut slicks. Drys - unsure on wheels but A048's Best mod of all... More driver training! I'm not expecting to win obviously, but I want to go as fast as I can!

I had it ready for time attack! Even paid for the entry. But I lost my license which made my time attack career end rather sharpish. It's taken a while to convert it back to a road car though! But then I blame a house purchase, career, and now another house purchase. Even my miss's is hassling me like fook to get it done  You are best courtenays aren't you? Shame you're so far away!

Haha do you have a build thread? I'm just stupid, I am buying my first house at the same time as the car. It's a race to which comes first. Sensible isn't a word I understand! Haha I had to get the house though. The misses didn't like my old motto.. "You can sleep in a car, but you can't race a house!"

Don't go for the A048 for drys, use Kumho V70A or Avon ZZR... trust me on this.

V70's.

Don't expect V70s to last, my rears lasted 2400 miles (and that was to well below the markers) and 1/2 of that was trundling round at 40 MPH. On track I can't imagine them lasting more than 500 miles if you run with the crazy amounts of camber people seem to. One of their advantages though is that they remain sticky all the way to the markers and don't seem to "go off" (which I found R888s did). Good luck with your plan, you sound committed and clued up :)

Nev, he is racing the bloody thing, 2400 miles is 5 years worth of racing... 500 track miles will be awesome if he can get that. Different ball game completely. V70's would be the choice as we know them on the car and have two years experience. I started with the A048 and took them off pretty quickly.

To be honest, I would probably end up with road tyres on a set of wheels and dry track and wet track tyres to swap over in the same set if rims (then causes issues if it starts raining during session but could plan ahead and maybe use road wheels to fit drys and others for wets. I have some nice plans. Of course they won't all happen at once (although at the minute the longer it's taking me to get the car the more stuff I'm getting!) haha As long as I have fun and meet some of you guys on track it's all worth it at the end of the day!

Was interested in times so had a look on TSL. Only circuit layout that is the same is Cadwell. Both 2013 race/final times.

A basic 150bhp Lotus Elise Trophy car on Avon ZZR's did a 1.39.153 with an non-pro driver.

The fastest club class time attack car was Phil Reed in an 800bhp Evo he did a 1.35.060.

Darron did a 1.47.863.

So I guess that maby with 200bhp, a wing and splitter you could win with a good driver.

Wow this escalated didn't it! Just to be clear Darrons car was undriveable for all the rounds up to Croft then the engine went pop in time for Snetterton.

The time above for Cadwell was the first round of the year and it was actually funny to watch the car jerking and spluttering as it passed me in the pit lane. No excuse for the Cadwell time as if we needed an excuse. The time is the time and there wasn't much more left in the car with Darron driving (Maybe different with God Scuffers driving). That said he could of gone quicker but on the day we didn't think he need to, it looked like we were cruising to a win as only Umar was troubling us but he said his car was fcuked and it was smoking its tits off. We had no pit board to let Darron know that Umar was on it.

We struggled with traffic and should of sorted a pit board. Live and learn and i dont feel like we disgraced our selves.

Why let the truth get in the way of a good slagging off though eh.

Found one more. Oulton Park.

150bhp Elise  - 1.56.6

Time attack best - Chris Bennett Impreza - 1.53.1

Darron - 1.57.1

270bhp Lotus 2-11 - 1.49.3

rant

Good luck mate have fun and enjoy it. Be aware that your times will be for all to see and picked to pieces or compared to different cars with better drivers.  :)
