just go for the new clam from lotushardtops, most of the refit work is trivial and you can do it yourself in an hour with new fixings. depends on how quick you want to turn it around , but I would be on the phone to respray and get it booked in and order the clam asap.

Check the wishbones and rear subframe. Sounds like they have taken the brunt of the force and will likely be bent.

MVS can supply replica crash b oxes if you decided not to repair, also clams etc

If you want to risk your life in another crash, you are welcome to fit a MVS crash box.
To be honest I think it's appalling that MVS is making and selling them, and I don't see how anyone here can mention the production in a positive light.

there cheap because they don't fit , complete waste of time and money , the only part I've seen that is just about usable is the sill.
but even then when they took the mould they could not be bothered to remove door chassis sticker , so when you get your new one it has a strange square lump in the sill by the door pin.

THIS!!!
basically new front clam, patch the rad surround, if the crash box is at all compromised get a GOOD new one, and do the first stage of a suspension refresh (ie get everything off and check it)

I am glad we cleared that up.
I guess the OPs were a nasty shade of brown by the time that picture was taken.

Perhaps fred666 wasn't aware of this information. If however, his comment and your reply make even one prospective buyer think about the repercussions, then that is a good thing.

Pretty sure he is aware considering his previous car was built in the MVS workshop.

We dont make the crashboxes because I tried and I couldnt find the spec for the material they are made from. You can still get an Elise Rover crashbox new from Lotus that is the same so they are available. For the relatively small difference in cost between an approved crash structure and a piece of GRP that offers no crash protection at all I would get an original one.
If and when someone has a bump with a GRP crashbox and the insurance company get a sniff of it its going to get pretty serious for the guys making them.
Going by the pics I cant see that the crashbox in this case would have been damaged significantly but best to check when the clams off. They are about 1200 from lotus for reference.

Jacob - Hard luck mate. Look at the positives though, you're OK and you'll respect the car a lot more. Very similar situation to me when I got my first VX, albeit nearly 10 years ago and my car came off slightly worse. Good luck with the repair!
Tried to post an image but for some reason the forum won't let me. Probably a blessing as it'll save the eejits quoting it...

Now that is interesting.
100% identical?
Do you know the lotus part number for it, and maybe the price?

They aren't identical! The elise one has a revised layup giving a stiffer structure. Lotus usually wont sell you one as they don't know how it will affect the air bag systems (obviously they know how it works with the tub). The shape is the same though so it will physically fit.
they are made by high pressure resin transfer moulding hence the infusion mesh on the surface (which people often confuse with carbon weave!!!). Its not too hard to make but would be costly as a one off. OEM is the way forward.
