Cant believe anyone could live after that! Even on the worst VX/Lotus crashes you normally see the chassis stays in one and protects the occupants.

i bet those harnesses saved their life..

The weird thing about that picture of an LHD speedster is that the driver harnass pieces are still clicked in.

It makes no sence that a resque worker would click it back together after removing the driver.

edit:

If i google translate the article, it says the speedster driver was thrown out of the vehicle.

Looking at the harnass it alsmost makes me think submarining.

(the other injured driver was the seat. The speedster driver was alone)

Jesus Christ, that's the worst VX accident I've ever seen, goodness knows how anybody survived that. Jeeze.

I meant the only driver in the speedster was thrown out during the crash, yet the harnass is still clicked in.

Speedster must have been stationary (or moving slowly) and got hit by the seat on the passenger side. That would probably explain why the speedster driver survived as he wouldn't have had massive deceleration to survive. Legs are probably a mess though :(

The way the car is I wonder if he was cut out by the emergency services. If not then he is lucky to be alive.

Some confusion i see.

1 guy (43) driving the speedster, and 1 girl (20) driving the seat.

The speedster guy was thrown out at impact.

Both are hospitalised with heavy injury.

I agree with Joe, harnesses without cut outs are just dangerous. It allows the harnesses to slip off the shoulders in the event of a smash and I doubt that guys harness was too tightly fitted.

Having said that, being thrown clear may well have saved his life.
