Don't get me wrong - I love my VX, but it would have to be a very special VX indeed to want to swap this for!

He isn't looking for a straight swap

I know as I have asked the question

why not get a VIC test done and remove the cat c status  (cost £41)

Vic test doesn't remove it from being a cat C it just makes it ok to put back on road purely done to make shore you havnt changed the shell or tub .

sorry yes Lee totally correct, vic test will only confirm identity and is compulsory for a cat C before new registration documents issued, the cat c status remains on HPI register for cars life. If it was exported and reimported , most likely it would be cleared.

I'm in agreement with Haggi. Not disputing the fact that a lot of work has gone into it and that it is must be an amazing car to drive etc, but as has been said, it is at the end of the day a S1 elise in drag with a different engine. Its technically not an exige just an elise with an exige bodykit. Why arent our vxs, expecially the very clean ones with similar money put into them worth anywhere near that money? I can understand a slight lower price for badge snobbery but come on are lotus' actually worth that much more just for a badge?

But it's only us that are putting are car prices down when we come to sell. If everyone put the prices up on the adverts say by a couple of grand then people will pay it if it's the car there after. Each time we lower the price the value goes down. Personally think the N/a should be worth the 10.5 - 11k that they where selling for about 3 years ago. Turbos where around the 15k plus mark.

i would give my left bollock (slightly bigger one) and a few grand and my vx for an audi exige, would even chuck in a all expenses paid for weekend with my misses (that should make the seller feel sorry for me)

Its not just a badge though in this instance (or indeed any S1). Its the difference between a car with bits bolted on and a car thats been rebuilt from the gound up by a skilled engineer/fabricator. If people cant see the difference then the fault lies with them not the market/buyers etc. Sorry but the bloke was never going to a straight swap for any VX.

Yes and he's had at least one offer of the asking price so, like I said above, he was never going to swap for a VX.

I new that , It was worth a try, As I said to Nelson his is by far the best conversion of the Audi set up I have seen from a few conversions, You know what your Honda conversion cost what the heck did this one stand him !
