Got home at 9 pm. Journeys up and back were a bit grim. They really need to build some more tracks down South.
Quiet night in at the hotel as Bargi couldn't make it and a nice early start. Have never opened up a garage before at track and was intrigued when the electric opener didn't seem to work, so pushed it harder until there was a loud wailing noise through out all the garages! Turns out the arrows weren't for the individual doors but pointing at the button that was the fire alarm!!! Not the best start to the day and a lesson in why no one should be up that early on a Sunday.
The track dried out well and we had some good sessions, best ones were easily with Paul and then Bargi at the end, the day only being blighted by the fact that Javelin let a load of bookatrack Caterhams mix in the day, with people who'd never been on track and with instructors that didn't seem too worried about the trackday people.
There were at times convoys of 10 plus cars when only 30 were actually allowed on track, and once you got past that slow caterham (roughly going half everyone else's speeds) you simply got caught behind another one. If booking any Javelin days check the attendees first and if there's a large group of caterhams under one name (it was a company name not Bookatrack) don't go.
Despite them, managed to have fun and good to meet Potatoes, Deano1 and thegasman (sorry about my lack of talent moment!). Had the spin after once again being waved past by one of the learner Caterham instructors in the middle of the bend. My fault as should have ignored the instructors who kept doing that and no damage done.
Time to give the old girl a clean and check and get ready for Brands next.
Tally ho.

Sounds like great fun on track. I've never done a track day in a car before done quite a few on a bike as used to live a mile from donington race track! Are there special newby track days and where is the best place to start? Keen to see what the vx can do
I was going to say Bedford is the ideal place for a novice. Good quality track (i.e. not a rough airfield track), interesting and loads of run off should anything go wrong.
Down sides are low noise limit and a long way from Plymouth....but then isn't everything!
