Hi, I have this morning received a letter from Warren Gazzard Director Gazzmatic advising that they have been made aware of a potential issue (their words) on GAZ Gold dampers for VX220 cars. They are asking me to remove my shocks & return them to Gazzmatic International Ltd. Rayridge house, Swinburne Rd. Essex. Does anyone else know anything about this recall? Obviously removing them from the car, taking the car off the road while they are checked & returned and the bloody fussy setting up for my lowered suspension after is going to be very inconvenient and annoying. I'm a bit sceptical.

Either ignore it or make an appointment and drive over to them and they can do it all.

Thanks for the replies, it seems that the letter is genuine. I assume a few more members will be getting them thru the post shortly. I like Miles idea to drive to Burnt Mills Industrial Estate in Essex to get GAZ to do whatever is necessary to the car, but I have a trapped nerve on my back and working on the car is not possible at the moment and driving it from Ascot Berksire to Basildon Essex is likely to not do me much good. I think I'll phone Warren, wait for my back to repair in a week or so, remove them myself & post them back to GAZ, hoping the turnaround time is quick & the postage cheap! I can change the brake pads & clean & paint the suspension while I'm waiting for the shocks, I'm sure it needs doing so the time won't be wasted. Such is life, these things are sent to try us & they do. - The joys of owning a toy car!

Hmmmm  I just say that because they replaced all my GGP with GGP2 earlier this year because of a fundamental issue in the design of GGP....

A recall as in you don't have to pay to get them fixed? I recently sent a set back and had to pay to get them rebuilt.

I've received the same letter and they originally supplied me GGP2, they must know what they supplied me so the fact I have the letter from them probably means the GGP2 are under suspicion. Just as well because I'm sure one of the adjusters is knackered already anyway (and I still have my original shocks)

IMO and that of others they've always been sh*t quality and now it would seem there are dangerous faults appearing. You should all ask for your money back.

Damn I threw my old Billies away, I knew I should have kept them for a day like this.

Loads of us probably bought them from the guy on here, does that mean he will get lots of letters? I certainly have not had anything.
