what 'clicks' are people running their Quantum single adjustable suspension at  :poke:

I have searched :P  but could not find any mention of any base settings, for example: fronts 6 clicks from 0, rears 7 clicks from 0 etc

My car is running very much a street setting. I have the fronts at -15 and the rears -12 on 300/425 springs. I know it sounds like it should be all woolie but the control on the shocks is so good and combined with the helper springs you get great bump comfort but with proper progressive cornering stiffness. Was going to stiffen the shocks up at track days but to be honest I've never felt the need, having tried it once and making the car a bit too 'understeery'.

I will set them at 14r and 12f as a base setting and go from there  :)

Thank you Matt  Imnotworthy

Interesting, as my single blacks now also tend to be set around 12-14 clicks too with 400-550 springs.

I have mine at 15/17 from full hard front/rear for road. Crank em right up for track.

define "right up"?

if you going to stiffer than ~ -8, consider stuffer springs, your getting to the point of trying to use the dampers to hold the car up.

Turn them up too stiff and you'll end up like mine was when messing around with the settings...

Last outing I just kept winding clicks on until it felt right. Funnily enough it ended up at 10 and 12 from full hard :) Of you have them on full it's like driving on actual concrete.

I have found a lot of owners keep winding their dampers harder and harder and the car handles better and better. All of those times I find that is because stopping the car moving and being able to roll masks geometry setup issues.

I think you just end up hitting a sweet spot where the springs are working well with the dampers normally. The only times I've had to have geo redone have been when someone that doesn't know what they are doing has been buggering about with it before I've had it in. Surprisingly high profile snake oil salesmen as well! Nobody thats active on here I might add. IMO unless its going sideways or munching tyres just leave the fecker alone.

Ah, OK, that's about right then...

(had visions of you running at -4)

exactly...   all sorts of kinematic issues can be masked by stopping the suspension moving!

Today I finally got around to driving my vx after fitting the Quantums

As suspected the suspension height settled a little, so I had to return home to adjust the front ride height. I also dropped the shock settings from 12 to 13 (from full hard) at the front and 14 to 15 at the rear (from full hard).

The roads around Buckinghamshire are a little rough

First impressions;

A much firmer ride, which is what I sought, much less body roll and thus more confidence when taking corners at sensible speeds.
