Pah.. you can't fool me :P

It's still parked up and you're waiting for the AA man to come replace that K series for you* ;)

*I'd still have one though if I could have more than one car ! Such a shame about that naily old lump in the back though, oh and the rusty wheelarch stays, oh and the bits that keep falling off, oh and having to take the whole clam off to get to the battery, oh and having no heater, oh and having no roof, oh and.... ;) Great fun to drive on track though** thumbsup

Its funny how a few horror storys turns into 'the norm' for a car.

Granted it isnt exatly got say VAG reliability BUT the things you mention havent been a problem for me.

The engine in standard form is gutless below 3k but having if you play with an ecu it is more than happy in traffic (if you take it in traffic that is). All it needs is a little TLC. Regular oil changes (RS 10-60) and ensure its warmed up/down each use. Works for me! thumbsup Rusty wheelarches? Unsure on that but mine has no rust ANYWHERE (GJOB :D ) No falling off bits either?! I have a race battery (necessary to get it out should you want to - now that was an oversight by Lotus!!) Only problem I have currently is the rear wheel arch brackets keep braking. So I'm having some made up from an engineer (mate). TBH I like doing stuff like this. It gives the car more charm. Its all part of the ownership for me. If I wanted a car I could just jump in to go the the shops and use on track then I would get an Elise again or maybe a VX. BUT the 340 is in another league.

Oh and as for the heater and roof...pah! I'm no wuss! Wear a coat. Job done. thumbsup

And for on track, you are 100% right. I'd say keeping up with challenge 355's/360's gives you an idea of how it goes :D

Would it be fair of me to say that the 340 is one step closer to an out and out racing car, and one step further away from a road car than the VX is? In which case, this car was probably meant to require a bit of work to keep it running, and not meant to withstand bad weather or sit in traffic. Given that I need a car to do both these things and I can't afford two cars I wouldn't buy one but if there wen't those constraints I'd sure as hell have one. Who wouldn't

Ding. The 340 is a track car for the road. Although with a reviere roof it could be used as a daily drive... ;)
