I really don't want to screw a Fire Extinguisher in place. Do you think we can have one taped in the cockpit somewhere?

what is this 'mangiafuoco' you speak of?

Is velcro to the footplate good enough - wouldn't it come off and fly around the cabin in a crash?

Most extinguishers come with a mounting bracket, just cable the bracket to your footrest. Oh and hope you never have to get into the footwell to get it. Don't recall there every being a date on the Fireater, so not sure whether Spa would be happy with it.

Fs, just when the TAT Concept fire extinguisher bracket group buy has finished and the online store shut permanently!! http://www.vx220.org...uisher-bracket/

I chucked mine a couple of weeks ago. It's been sat in my study for 2 years as I decided not to fit it and then crushed it accidentally.

I had a plastic cheapo fitting bracket that I used self tapers to mount to the floor just under the front of the passenger seat. Has never come loose.

Yeh so is the mangio fuoco ok? Was email Paul but didn't want to flood him with questions.

I did mail Paul for a list of approved extinguishers...however, there is no approved list ! I have got the Mangio fuoco...like most people..... Secured it with a marine mounting bracket under the front of the passangers seat.

Well if there is no approved list then I can just turn up with a bottle of water on the passenger seat then ?

I'm leaning towards a handheld potassium aerosol extinguisher.

Its lighter.

It has a longer discharge time than a 1kg powder extinguisher.

It doesn't mess up your interior if you have to use it.

...more expensive though.

That's what out Mangiafuoco FireEaters (or the Sparco version) are. Weigh a couple of hundred grammes, easy to store as they're the size of a marine flare (mine is just wedged in beside the drivers seat and sill) and discharge for a minute. No idea what effect it has on aluminium but certainly won't be any worse for it than the powder extinguishers are.
