We were there for the 24h race and then the trackday, got very wet of Saturday and Monday, second visit to Spa this year and second time it has rained for the trackday which is frustrating. car performed well given the conditions, I just need to be braver, still braking way too early for corners.

no problems with the ferry , apart from my car now has a salty frosted effect as we got loaded right at the front , but on the plus side just second vehicle off at Dover , A2/M2 fine
people had been forewarned, so the car loading area was full 1h30 before sailing , plenty of time for the trip back so stopped at huge Auchan grande synth, petrol and wine silly cheap.
also when coming back on the e40 , between junction 13 "Drongen" /14 "Sint Denijs-Westrem", there is the most amazing service stop for food at Drongen , its a Texaco but has a brand new Del Haize (think posher then Waitrose) attached. The place was immaculate.

Rain at Spa is daunting , but there is grip to be found , it just teaches you to respect the circuit as its easy to find yourself over the limit or badly positioned.

I still can't believe we didn't help ourselves to a case or two of champagne from the Spa 24 hour version of The Paddock Club. We could have got loads in either of the Bentley's they'd also conveniently left behind.

And there is the real reason you wanted an Evora.

And there is the real reason you wanted an Evora.
That and audible handsfree phone calls. It's all he was going on about, all weekend.

Interesting camber settings on this Golf at the Chunnel yesterday.
Based on that, the grey S2 Elise could have driven home. Well, as long as he didn't need to use his front brakes.

We had access to the Total VIP hospitality on Sunday for the race, so we were still recovering to want to buy any more booze

Can't believe Joe would have missed an opportunity like that.

Apologies for the timid driving this was my first session and I was unsure about the grip levels
Also wish I'd cleaned the windscreen

For the benefit of the jury... The above film was made at the driest part of the day. Chris had cleaned and prepped just about every part of the car, inc wheel bolt torquing, coolant top ups... So cleaning the screen was clearly an oversight
The just-about-to-leave-the-paddock coolant warning light coming on was a worry but I was determined not to be outdone by the caravan
