Brugge would be far better. Ghent is small.

Will post up hotels tomorrow.

Martin

Is it like Legoland?

Having just returned from both I would say that Ghent is the larger of the 2 😛

I have emailled Fabienne ( Villa Louise ) about bookings for next year as I will be at Spa quite a bit. She was able to book me in for July , so I will find out if the other rooms are available. I also asked about using the outside bbq. This means there will be another room spare at the "Bel Natura" , as I will cancel this Sunday booking.

What was the answer you got when you asked about the BBQ?

Are you all stopping over somewhere on the way out as I had assumed people would be blasting to spa, 2 nights there and having a stop over on the way back on the 28th?

As mentioned earlier myself Sean and Paul are thinking of stopping somewhere. Ghent was on the table but nothing definite yet.

I've not planned it yet either, will probably blast to straight Spa, although we might go there a day earlier and see the race and head back via Reims

I will more than likely take an evening tunnel and stay near Calais ready for an easy drive to Spa the next morning.

thats a fair bit out of your way , what you could do is pop over the border to Luxembourg , at least to get cheap fuel/beer/gifts

It is, I've always wanted to go there and get a picture in the pitlane. I think I may take a few days after Spa to travel around Lux, Germany & France so it won't be too much of a ddetor

So , accomodation in Stavelot , I got my email reply back Good evening Steve, I still have 2 rooms available in July - suite le Jardin du Prince : 95 euros per night including breakfast - la Cascade : 85 euros per night including breakfast My neighbours have also 2 rooms with each a bathroom; price 80 euros per night. I would have to check the availability. At home we also have a guest room; price 80 euros per night. You could use the barbecue. Please let me know if this would suit and fit to your needs.

Have you decided where to stay in Bruges? If not I can recommend this place which is 15 mins walk to the centre and also has plenty of parking spaces, unlike many central Bruges hotels. It's a small family run traditional hotel. Rooms a bit dated but clean and spacious http://www.belfortho...erie-pannenhuis

I'm tempted to combine this trip with a visit to the Ring just for half a day. I know its dangerous and insurance isn't valid and its full of plonkers but its just something to tick off the bucket list. Being a Family Man means that my opportunities for playtime have to be taken when presented and turned upto Defcom 5. Anybody else done this or would like to join me?
