600 BHP is too much Darron, you will likely rip all the running gear to bits. 450 BHP to 500 max is the sweet spot IMO and still incredibly fast. I had 550 ft/lb and 600 BHP coming out of mine (due to a miss-connected hose) for the summer before last and it was completely intimidating and somewhat un-drivable in a  safe manner. Your decision to run and run is a wise one IMO :)

Best of luck.

Accelerate in straight line. Check if penis has grown. Repeat.

As subtle as a car hitting a wall.

Presumptuous and incorrect. How could you possibly know how I drive my car, you've never even met me, let alone had a passenger ride. You simply have a chip on your shoulder for some reason.

Do you get it to a track much? Just be interesting to hear if you have any traction issues and if the TC is a hindrance or not???

Nope, not been on track, not that I see the necessity just to understand the benefits of TC. The old Courtenay map had brutal torque spike in it and badly needed TC. The new ECU + map is tremendously smooth so I haven't felt like I need to wire up the TC on it... yet.

I guess TC is always a good idea, no matter what people say, if you want to increase your chances of staying on the tarmac, make your investment last longer without crashing and want to get round corners as fast as mechanically possible. the ability to allows you to go round corners on the limit, every time, repeatedly and securely is fundamental. This is partly/mostly why a good driver with an NA can out-lap a bad driver in a VXT.

Of course for TA etc, I can see that TC eliminates a good deal of driver skill and thus is undesirable, however for non race environments there is plenty good reason why so many powerful cars have it.

One of the Nationals I went to, I sat in Ian's (Danger7's) car for some passenger laps. As we went round some of the corners I thought I noticed a very subtle miss-fire/hesitation and asked why his engine sounded a bit off at times. He smirked and then revealed that I was the only person who had ever noticed - he had been quiet about having Racelogic TC in his car. His car also felt the fastest round corners and was the fastest in a straight line too with 360 BHP (though I think Lee's car was on form that weekend too and I didn't get a ride in it).

I guess some will disagree... until they lose the back end unexpectedly for one reason or another.

HTH.

sad to say things are not right at Courtenay at the moment, a remap engine should not go bang just 2 hours driving home.

first track day today ,showed up a few teething probs mainly with the gear cables, that left us completing most of the day with just 2 and 4th gear due to a snapped cable,i was a little apprehensive as how 440hp would be on a track with a great big turbo.

I need not have worried,ADE tuning have done an epic job!!! its like double cream all the way from tickover to limiter it was awesome!!!!

volksworkshop who built the car were there to help on the day and helped me on,this has the makings of an epic car.i am amazed how easy it is to drive, once dry you could not break traction without driving like a knob

hmmmm sequential box.................................

Are you competing? Yes - get a sequential, anything to save you time is needed No - dont bother, leave it manual and just enjoy the car, its not like nuch will pass you anyway.

The problem with transverse sequential boxes is that they generally can't cope with the sort of torque that a TC'ed car puts out. I looked into it at one point and gave up, doubly so once I saw the prices !
