Dave E,

You're back in fine fettle fellow! Are you going to now grow a pair & book the Snet National? Go on, you know you should! ...I've had just as many jinxed outings there as you!

Great control of your boost. It sure spools up quick! Even your Nitrons seems to be keeping you well planted...Bonus!

Matt, glad to see you're back driving the VX & enjoying it!

Yeah, it makes a nice change. I absolutely loved Zandvoort. Much more so than Spa the week before. Felt like I really started getting to grips with 90% of the circuit by the end of the day. Just two corners I never felt happy with all day. Granted the weather was different but I do wonder whether going back to R888's added to the feeling of fun and maybe losing the Nitrons pre-Spa helped too.

Definitely need to get the car set up now though, the difference in ride heights at each corner are visible to the eye.

Matt, What dampers are fitted now?

Fit a 1" front Arb forget the R888's!

I dropped off my 340R to BOT today. Jez was saying that he tested several rear arbs of different bar thicknesses on a Lotus for a client. He then tested them at a track & found that the quickest lap times were without any arb. An expensive test day!

Great driving as normal Dave. Chills power not getting the better of your lines and braking. ;)

You can't beat expierience around that track Techie said he got to grips with 90% I think I only got to grips with 50-60% And I'm only at 60% with the car and it's power Anyway not to take anything away from Dave E he peddles very well I have lots to learn 🚙💨

Doesn't Dave E have similar power to Chill? I thought he was stage 4?

Yeah, experience is everything at Zandvoort, Chris Matt and George were all exceptionally quick straight out of the box thumbsup Captain, yes I'm kind of stage 4 but have wound the actuator right back to make it more drivable, as Max mentioned you can see on the gauge the boost is easier to control like that. I'd happily sacrifice 20hp for a car I can actually drive! Max, as much as I'd like to be humiliated by you at that Norfolk track I'm going to be in Tibet of all places. Yes I really do hate that track that much  Oh and I'm on quantum blacks now, the 46s came off the car after the last time I saw you and were eventually sold.

...Without going off topic too much, how does the quantum's compare to the 46's? What spring rates does your lardy tubby have now? Your rear doesn't appear to be trying to overtake your front end!

I started the topic so I'll go as far off as I like! I eventually went with 650/800, but I was told by Matt B I do need tyres with a strong side wall to get the most out of them, if you plan on r888 I'd go slightly softer but talk to Matt, but I absolutely love them! They're much more progressive and I got to a point where I could actually adjust the slip angle on the corners. It's hard for me to technically describe but I have complete confidence in what they are going to give me corner to corner something I didn't have with the 46s.

I think matt's selected the same for me. I guess he's also twisted your arm into having a 1" ARB? I hate R888's with a passion. I'll be sticking with kumho v70's if I can. although I'm not sure if they do 16" sizes as I'm going back to 16/17 combo. Your car looked pretty pointy! I remember Scuffers drifting your car around, but not by choice...

I believe Chill has north of 350bhp now (when he's not got catastrophic intake temp related power loss :))

But I'm sure he'll be along to confirm.

I'm running 205/16 and 225/17 on the v70s and yes I do like a pointy car, as long as the fronts willing to go in I'll sort out the back end, this way I can use a little lift off oversteer on the really tight stuff

The car does run north of 350 hp when the car stays cool at zandvoort inlet temps were in the 90s which at a estimate was costing me 50- 60 hp it did run quick in short bursts

Does anyone know who can design a new inlet? Surely it's worth a few people pooling funds to get this resolved? That's a big hit! Or Stick it inside a 12v halford's fridge. Lol

i think water injection is the answer to keeping temps low

the down side to it is you can use it to create even more power  :tt:

Interesting you both rate the v70's. They are circa £600 per set which is similar to the Avon zzr's. Anyone tried both?

My 340r has ZZR's fitted, but I've not driven it as yet! I've heard others slate the V70's but with correct tyre pressures & more importantly getting heat into them, they grip well & don't drop off a cliff like R888's.

Water injection works. See my Resurrection project thread for the graphs :)
