Cut off switch accidentally triggered or relays put back in wrong are common.

Cheers I've suggested it to Liam.

:( these little plastic boxes can be infuriating at times. It'll all be worth it in a few months when you're flying around a race track with a massive grin...

Too right Kev. I have faith in Liam's ability to bring it back to life again. I'll see you all on track soon.

Oh thank you! This looks great;) 3,8 kg seat porn

5.3kg as per Neils previous post, the weight on Tillets website is a typo and only refers to the full carbon versions (B1,B2 & B7) which are mega expensive.

Last week Liam replaced the fuel pump with an expensive but hopefully reliable, capable and quiet Spitfire pump. Car still won't start    He's checking relays now. Gotta be something simple... right?

Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on? Checked the fuel pump cut out?

It primed when the car was with me with the old pump. Old pump was defo dead. Not sure about cut out.

The other to possibly watch out for is the fuel pipes may be leaking internally and even though the pump is running it may not be enough pressure http://www.vx220.org...help/?p=1778801

Liam has got the pump working but now it won't turn over. He says there's defo an electrical problem somewhere and is replacing all the fuses in the fuse box as they all have some corrosive growth on them and is cleaning up all the relays. Really hoping this solves it.

If it´s the yellow starter relay, he can temporarily swap it for a grey one from the front.

Just need to be quick getting the finger off the starterbutton if it picks up.

Liam has spent a long time replacing and cleaning relays and connectors. In his words 'it looked like the car had been at the bottom of the sea for a few months' :( . Not far off actually as I live on a cliff on the North East coast.

SO, after much work cleaning / replacing then trying to start it he got it running  :jump:

He sent me a vid of it starting and running but can't upload it. Suffice to say I'm gonna miss the Larini.

Pricing up a custom cat section from Powerflow - £395 fitted. However on advice from Chill it sounds like I need an HJS cat to withstand the heat which is another £300 or so on top. Maybe not just yet...

At least it's running and he can now fit the seats, roll bar, disks, pads etc.

Some good news finally  :)

Great news! Where was that connector? And why is the larini going? Too loud?

That plug is near the oil cooler and has the main 12v power cable connections.

Great news its running. Yeah that broken spade on that connector won't have helped.

And to echo Vimes' comment - whats up with your existing exhaust?

It's a dilemma re the exhaust. It's hilariously loud with the full Larini decat and back box but I just can't cope with it on the motorway. I've got lots of trips planned for this year (Scotland, Zandvoort, Spa, French frolic etc) so need something quieter. Liam is going to put a tubby back box on the decat section to quieten it down a bit cheaply. My thinking long term is that I want the pops and burbles of the back box hence me looking into a custom front decat section with HJS cat to marry up with the Larini box. At least that's where my head is at the moment!

Right I see. Thinking back to following you around Hethel, yeah it was, err, quite loud.

Could another cheap option be to keep the Larini with a standard NA downpipe/CAT? I have standard downpipe/CAT on mine, as many have, and still makes 250+.

Fair enough. I couldn't even stand the relatively quiet Regal with standard cat section. Tubby box and no cat could work really well.

Yeah like I say it's loads of fun when booting on track but impossible to live with on long journeys. And that's what I had before a transit van ploughed into the back of me. I asked around for one but after adding up the cost of it plus shipping to MMG it was simpler to just stick a tubby back box on. I'm keeping the Larini back box in case I change my mind.

Neil. I've got a spare cat section. What price point makes sense? I can get it at the weekend.

Cheers Tom, but don't worry. I'm going with the tubby back box on Larini decat for now.

It's depressingly quiet ;)
