Yep, he wouldn't be putting it back together otherwise. He's replaced / cleaned loads of contacts and relays until it started with the new fuel pump.. Might even be ready to collect this weekend. Anyone fancy a trip to MMG from my neck of the woods?

Issues with getting seats to fit mean the car isn't year ready to collect. Liam sent me these pics which shows how tight it is in there for space.

Apparently Tillett B5s aren't as much of an issue but as the B6s are a race seat it's tricky especially as I ordered a passenger seat as well. Also need a new fixing that Tillett have developed so I can retain the seatbelts, and Luke sent the lap belts with the wrong fixing so I I've asked for a replacement. Might not even be ready next week now.

Gonna look great when they're finally in though.

I think you may struggle to refit the consol with both of the B6's in place ,

Liam has finally finished working on the car. It's gone massively over budget due to all the rotten electrics so I'm truly skint now. Jobs done by MMG: Replace fuel pump with Spitfire uprated pump. Spent a week diagnosing then fixing myriad electrical problems so the car started and ran. New plugs. Fit 2 x Tillett B6 custom carbon seats. Fit harness bar and harnesses. Fit tubby back box to Larini decat system (depending on how I get on with this I may have a Larini back box for sale. Fit EP lightweight disks, RS14 pads. Refurbished all four brake calipers. I've left the 1" ARB off. I'm not convinced it will make enough difference to justify the cost of fitting it. Want to try a similar set up car (Captain Vimes?) That has one fitted then I'll make my mind up. May also sell this. Going down to collect it next week and just want to enjoy some trouble free driving for the rest of the year.

Good to hear it's back in one piece! Is your back actually allowing you to drive it? You're welcome to have a drive of mine to get a feel for the ARB but suspect the overall feel will be more affected by geo..? From memory you have relatively soft front springs? If you're sticking with the standard ARB you might want to consider increasing front spring rate instead? Cost of springs are around £70 and fitting is pretty simple.

I guess I'll find out next week when I pick it up and drive the 3hrs home  I've 'practised' by sitting in the seats on the floor and going through the motions. Think I'll be ok but getting in and out will now be done soley via the roof! Thanks for the offer of a drive - yes I have soft springs. What are your geo settings out of interest? Are springs £70 for a set?

£70 for 2 including delivery (faulkner springs). Got mine from demon twits. I've lost track of geo on mine. But basically: - Toe = straight ish (some toe in at the rear) - Camber = no shims but still need more negative camber at the front. - Height = lowest it'll go without loose springs. Which is about 130/115 but I haven't checked it since changing springs as my drive isn't flat enough. Spring rates 525r/350f with 1" ARB on middle setting. The key for me was getting the front/rear roll stiffness working together. The 350f only works with the 525 rears because I have the 1" ARB. I'd like to test a much stiffer setup at some point though just to see how it feels but going stiffer than I am requires the use of tender springs and damper revalved which means £££ Good luck driving it! I hope it's not too uncomfortable!

The water tank look a lot shallower than I remember. That does look like a PITA to fill. A container similar in shape to the fuel tank in the same location would lend to a more discreet install. I expect finding a suitable container is difficult though. Thinking out loud here as really like this install/solution.

I expect finding a suitable container is difficult though.

The washer fluid container is rediculously big, and can be replaced with a small one on the tyre pressure can location.

Then you can fit a 5 liter container over the battery. (have not found a suitable one yet though)
