So it failed MOT on brake pipes, brakes not braking evenly, lights and emissions. I knew most of this would happen. A local mechanic I've used for years is sorting the brake lines (gave him the OK to cut into sill through wheel arch to speed the job up). The uneven braking is most def down to brand new discs and pads not being bedded in yet. RS14s instruct accelerating to over 100 leptons and braking firmly several times so need some open clear roads I've been assured that the lights and emissions will somehow sort themselves out. Ahem. The drive home from MMG reminded me that all the roof and door seals are either shagged or missing so I've ordered some from Liz and will spend tomorrow fitting them. Want to make sure my woman isn't too put off the car on our first ever trip together All being well we'll be doing a brief lap of Scotland from Thursday, taking in Edinburgh, Ullapool and Loch Lomond. Cannae wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like a minor set back, but all fixable. Get out in her for a few days, and enjoy it, and im sure the love will return

From Edinburgh to Ullapool on Friday. Probably via A9 although posts on here mention it's full of roadworks at the mo. Maybe a scenic detour could be in order!

Once you get to Perth better coming off for Blairgowrie and heading over the Glenshee road, through Braemar and then on past Lecht. Much fun to be had there and some lovely scenery. Once at Ullapool the Seaforth is a good shout for massive fish supper

Third foramidal epidural injection into my spine this morning then we're off on our brief lap of Sconnie Botland. The car gave me a mild stroke yesterday when it started making the weirdest of beeping, whirring squelching noises before stopping and refusing to start again. Turned out to be a dodgy earth. Called Liam immediately as he'd replaced them all. The one that failed was a pre fab cable he'd sourced from a motor factors. The spade connector had just come off meaning the cable was flapping around. He's duly bollocking the supplier. At least it was nothing serious. Come on little car, do me proud. At the recent Anglesey track day the hissing sound was diagnosed by the VX contingent as a dodgy injector. Specifically one I had already noticed was missing the little cap that keeps the rubber o-ring in place. The ring had most likely gone into the engine and so the injector wasn't sealed properly. Liam at MMG was kind enough to post me a couple from injectors he had lying around and today I removed the injector rail and fitted it all by myself. This for those that know me is a quantum leap forward :)

I treated myself to a camera for track days as I've always wanted one so got one of these http://www.replayxd.com/product/prime-x/

Tried it out today and very happy so far. It's controllable from the app and can do 1080p slow mo at 120fps which should be quite cool. Gonna get an external mic for it though cos nothing does my head in more about track day footage than wind noise.

Also treated it to one of these. A preventative measure to hopeful avoid the electrical system rotting again in this lovely NE coastal climate.

Couple of little jobs done. I've never had any outside space where I live so I'm really enjoying having a courtyard to tinker with the car.

Fitted the EP larger door striker pins cos my doors sound like they are going to fall off when driving over anything larger than a fecking pebble.

While I was there I decided to try and retrieve whatever has been rolling around inside both doors since I've had the car. For the first time I managed to take advantage of being a musician with regards to working on the car. The bits were right inside the door so I used a drum stick with a gaffa tape 'flower'

Posted Image

The bits in the other side were even further out of reach so I got part of a guitar stand

Posted Image

More gaffa tape

Posted Image

And using iTorch managed to retrieve all this after a few attempts

On Sunday I finally got round to cleaning my callipers up and painted them black. Today I dug out the orange decals I've had for 12 months and applied them to the rears

With wheel on

Really happy how they turned out considering they've been rust coloured during my entire ownership.

It's a deliberate Mystery Machine vibe I'm going for btw :) Subtle but also the orange is picked up in the Tillett pads and the carpets.

On Thursday I hope to fit the Tat fire extinguisher bracket I've had for two years as Spa now insists on having an extinguisher in the car. Fair enough really seeing as last time I was there an Elise went down the pit straight on fire...

Great to see you still tidying it up. Love the colour (if I haven't said that already) and love the CF mudguards.

Cheers Tom. And yeah I love the colour. Carbon seems to really work with it. That's reason enough right? :)

They are my track day wheels - fecking pointless in bothering

Still deciding what to get re road wheels. ATS DTCs are still my favourites unless I discover something else.
