Colour is called Mako Blue.

Can't find the code for Flugplatz Blue anywhere. Any chance you could maybe ask your Aston guy?
I'll ask him when I see him Saturday. If it is custom, it doesn't necessarily mean that Aston didn't do it. If you've got the ££££, they'll paint/customize one if their cars any way you like and taste be dammed. "Naff looking dragons embroidered on Sirs head rests? -that'll be £6000, red and gold leaf paint job? - that'll be £££££££" And yes, that car does exist! :-D

Little update. Me and Crabash went down on Friday to take the rear clam off. Discovered a few more bits that need replacing including the cat. So it seemed the most logical thing to to would be buy one of these

Posted Image

No more cat and more Larini shiny-ness  plus a decent weight saving over the OEM exhaust system to balance out the lightweight front clam.

Also bought slightly more boring bits like exhaust heat shield, hangers, clips etc and gonna coat everything with anti corrosion grease and ACT50.

Getting excited now.

I'm expecting a raise in volume so will be experimenting with db reducers while the clam is off in case I need them for track days.

And a raise in pooowwweerrrr. Must be worth an extra 0.75bhp  :D

More parts dropped off with Foxy: Arch liner, Larini back box, and bonnet hinge. Just waiting on the Larini decat to arrive now.

Other jobs to do:

  • Replace the headlight lenses
  • Spray my NA headlight to match the turbo replacement one (might end up spraying both)
  • Fit new rubber roof / door seals
  • Clean corrosion from as much as possible and coat everything with corrosion block and ACF 50
  • Replace old / incorrect bolts, screws with speedy fasteners new ones.
  • Replace roll bar cover (cracked fibre glass taking it off plus we have ideas for it)

Then finally decide on body colour, and work out if wheels, badges etc should be black or silver to compliment it best. The colour I have in mind is not as 'safe' as the previous Mexico Blue. But it will certainly stand out, and as far as I know be unique on a VX.

A little picture history of Y533 TLE.

When I first got her in 2012, utterly standard NA (with a load of jobs to do as it turned out)

Posted Image

Fixed up, new Mexico Blue colour, and a couple of basic mods after the first time someone hit me and it got written off in 2013

Posted Image

Fixed up again after the rear toe link failed, sent me into a hedge and wrote it off again last year. Now supercharged, and suspension completely refreshed. This pic was taken 2 days before the latest incident

In November 2014, I was involved in a 6 car pile up on the A19 at a notorious accident black spot. Rear ended by a Transit van while stationary and pushed underneath a Northern Grid Landy. Lucky to walk away, although I am still suffering from the physical injuries and mental scars.
