That coupe rear just looks the mutts mate. You are right, the profiled "blinds/slats" just makes the whole thing look superb. Was it a bitch to fit, can you post some piccies of the inside of the coupe lid and where it "connects" please?

Many thanks

Thanks.

The body shop who painted it fitted it said it was by all accounts a pain in the arse. It’s not sitting flush yet, but at the price they did the work for I couldn’t let them twat on with it any more so I’m gonna get some help to make it fit better.

Fitting instructions were sent. It retains the locking mechanism which is great but the hole needed enlarging to make it line up.

Also I wish I’d got the slats painted matt black with hindsight. The gloss was to match the gloss V and mesh but it’s too much. Looking into getting them carbon dipped / wrapped to match the other carbon goodies

Is it the Racing Emotion one ?
These visible fasteners are a pity...

Yes Racing Emotion. You mean the fasteners holding the slats in place? I don’t actually mind them

Yes the fasteners holding the slats.
How much is the kit?
I cannot see any prices on their website...

You could use matt black bolts that would be less conspicuous.  I like the kit and the look and would probably have gone for the Matt Black too.

The best would be some countersunk fasteners if there is enough thickness in the slats...

Time to officially end this thread, and project.

I’d just got the car to where I wanted it and had picked it up from the body shop literally 2 mins earlier (after it had been off the road all winter) when someone pulled out in front of me on the dual carriage way without indication or seemingly checking their mirrors. I slammed the brakes on cold tyres, avoided going into the back of them but ended up eating 50yrds of central barrier. As everything went into slow motion I had thoughts of ‘this can’t be happening’, ‘I’ve only just got it all looking good’, ‘I’ve got a track day at Silverstone tomorrow’ etc etc while simultaneously the front o/s wheel was ripped off, the door was destroyed and I came back round having to bring a 3 wheeled car with no brakes to a halt in a lay-by across two lanes of traffic.

Long story short, car totalled due to chassis damage. 4th time unlucky. I didn’t even have a scratch on me.

Had an evening of thinking I was done with stupid plastic sports cars before I have my head a shake and found another project.

Not a nice end.

What's the chassis damage ? What happens it now or will insurance scrap it ?

Whoa! Bad luck there! :angry2:

Always sounds lame, but the "It's only material damage" definitely is a good thing in the end although it doesn't mean it still sucks.. :saw:

What's the chassis damage ?

I suspect the front wishbones ripping out of the chassis and taking most of the extrusions they are attached to there with them.

Fixable? Possible.. Depends a lot on what and how tore off/out, but may be time to walk away from this one.

Bye, Arno.
