So after toying with the idea of selling the VX and racing in VTec Challenge this season in an Integra I have decided to do at least one more season in the VX. I'll be racing in just Team Trophy and probably most of the time as an only driver as Jez has a Civic he will be racing this year. 

 

In spite of successfully competing in class A for the final race of last season the plan is to stay in class B. Got a few mods in mind for the car concerning reliability but more or less staying at the same power/weight ratio. The race calendar will be released late January, registration will be early February and the first race late March/early April possibly at Snetterton. Will look to start testing at the beginning of March so got two months to sort the car, have a medical, re-apply for licence and lose some weight!!!!

Its the annual MSVR media day at Brands Hatch on 18th February and we have been chosen as one of the two cars that will be there representing Team Trophy. There will also be cars from F3, F4, Monoposto, Radical, Mini Challenge, GT Cup, Lotus Cup UK, Elise Trophy, Atom Cup, VAG Trophy, PBMW and others.

 

Its open to the public and entry is free, cars will be out on track and there is public access to the pit garage area. We will be in garage 29, so come and see us if you can.

 

Its to be screened on Motors TV on 17th March at 20.00

The Back On Track VX was invited to represent Team Trophy at the MSVR media day at Brands Hatch yesterday along with cars from F3, F4, GT Cup, Lotus Cup, Elise Trophy, Mini Challenge, Atom Cup, Monoposto and others to launch the forthcoming season. Photos here:

Brands Indy yesterday. The VX performed faultlessly qualifying 3rd on the grid in the middle of 4 S class cars and in the race finishing first in class B 56 seconds ahead of the second place car. Thanks to Jez at BoT for his, as usual, excellent work on the car and sizten and sizten Snr for coming along to support.

Thanks Mike, they dont just do their own circuits, we raced at Rockingham last season for instance. Stuart Garland is the man to speak to if you fancy trying.

So its off to Oulton Park tomorrow for the final races of the season on Saturday. A different format for this one. 30 minutes practice, 30 minutes qualifying then a 45 minute race just after lunch and an hour and a half later another 45 minute race with a reverse grid. All being well in the first race the VX should be near the front so it will be a different experience starting from near the back in the second race. I've got the new Toyo R888R's fitted and also, as heavy rain is forecast around lunchtime, a new set of Uniroyal Rainsport 3's. I notice Randy from Hoffmans has his Europa entered in the allcomers race. Would be good to see anyone who wants to pop along.
