As stated we had an epic day yesterday. First race was in torrential rain, I started 5th on the grid and had new Uniroyal Rainsport 3's on. They were simply superb and the car out gripped everything on track. With 4 laps to go I was third after having to do a 10 second longer pit stop as a single driver to the two driver teams. Within a couple of laps I had caught the two in front and then on the second to last lap managed to put a bit of distance between me and the second car so on the last lap I didnt have to take any chances. I cant say enough how well the tyres performed, others obviously thought so as well as we had a visit from a scrutineer and the series organiser to check them!! In the rain the FWD's usually have it away but not this time. For race 2 it had stopped raining but there was standing water everywhere so we left the Uniroyals on however a big smash in the previous race meant we sat in the holding area for 30 minutes with the sun out and the track slightly drying out in front of us. Onto the grid (7th) and away, 50m down the straight there was a multicar pile up in front of me, managed to avoid most of it apart from a glancing blow on the front clam by someones bumper skidding down the track. So more delays while they cleared the track and we lined up for a 30 minute race instead of 45. By now there wasnt much standing water and there were a few dry patches on the track but the tyres were still bang on. Gradually managed to move up the field into second place but again had to give 10 seconds to the leader by way of having to do a longer pit stop. Apparently I was reeling him in but just didnt have enough time to catch him and finished second. So a race win, a race second and two first in class. Wer've had worse weekends!! Thanks to Jez and Benny at Back on Track who worked their magic and set the car up perfectly as usual. During the winter the VX is going to get a suspension overhaul, the welded subframe is going to be replaced and its going to get a bodywork refresh with new front and rear clams and a new paint job (not matt black)How did you get on? Did you get chance to test the R888'Rs?

For 2016 Team Trophy has been changed to a championship which has attracted a lot of interest. First race of the season is Snetterton 300 this Sunday, apparently there are going to be over 40 cars on the grid. The VX has had a bit of a spruce up with new paint. Its had a Quaife diff fitted, the gearbox has been overhauled (again) after losing 4th gear and new driveshafts have been fitted. I've fitted a Webcon Alpha Pro 5 ECU and also a new dashboard.
Qualifying at Snett is around 10am and race around 2pm if anyone wants to come over. For the new season they've done away with the 10 second penalty for single drivers so with that and if we can carry over last seasons form we might have a bit of a chance.
