Just wondering how feasible or even possible it is to rotate the na z22se engine, by say 15 to 20 degrees lift on the intake side. I'm assuming its going to at least have some impact on oiling. The idea is to give more room for intake modifications.

I can only Imagine the expense, exhaust or just manifold, gear linkage, engine mounts, oil pump or maybe just the oil feed? That's all I think that'll require altering, wait while the knowledgable put their views?

Just cut the bulkhead and move it back

I was thinking a 10mm steel plate between the engine and gearbox with new mounting points... and spacing out the flywheel the same. So no gearbox change. Don't want to chainsaw the bulkhead :) I'll probably be making a custom exhaust for a 4-2-1 manifold... Well that's what my head is telling me... The mounts could be altered and shims use.

you would need to fabricate a new sump and oil pick up, plus a one off flywheel to space the clutch correctly for the gearbox spacer and a one off engine mount to suit the extra width.

If you want more room then the bulkhead is the easiest and simplest item to modify.

Thanks vocky and batman. Will see how I get on and whether I need more space.

You can perhaps lengthen your wheelbase   ;)

Not the easiest though

Interesting.... at the moment such radical mods would probably mean I'd never finish the car :) Hell it took me a month to get the clam off

I'm thinking of the opposite; tilting it forward to gain some extra room for a turbo in the back... :ninja:

Plus it lifts the driveshafts a bit, so less angle for the left boot.

What's your thinking on how to do the mod exmantaa? :)
