You'll love this then.... back when I was at uni studying aerospace engineering, one of our lecturers had worked for Ford. His specialty was reliability engineering.

His main job with Ford was to say what gearbox/engine item would fail at what time point and then Ford would work the area to ensure the weak ones fall outside of warranty....

WHO bought it then? ha

I got a reply to the message I sent yesterday- here is their reply-

Hi sorry we have taken a deposit on the Vx220
So the vehicle is now sold
Thx

Here was my message.

Hi Paul,

Just to let you know a friend visited the car the other day and have had a chance to see his photos of the car and take on board what his feedback from what he saw. Despite some reservations, I plan to come take a look for myself whilst travelling around this weekend assessing options.

I would really appreciate if could you make sure the car is outside for viewing, in proper daylight and accessible for a test drive and if it can also be cleaned off so the paint work can be seen properly that would be also ideal. I will also want to see under the bonnet to check the radiator type fitted as well as a general look, I understand the bonnet release has come off inside the car, so if this could be opened that will help the viewing.

I will call on Friday late afternoon/Saturday morning before setting off still, to confirm details.

Many thanks

Karl

Sounds fishy? Like they don't want the hassle!? Anyone else fancy phoning up saying they are local and wana see the car for me? :-)

They are probably all over this thread. The cynic in me says that they don't want you to come back and add to the first viewer's list of woe, effectively making it unsellable at that price (to anyone who frequents this site, anyway)

..tis a bit sad that a lonely green Vx will sit in a dark corner of a garage in the back streets of Warrington collecting dust as no one will want to buy it .... (at the presented price, buyers beware)..

...like the last runt of a puppy litter..... (insert sad eyes and a runny nose here)

....but at least it will have the chained Alsatians for company .......perhaps Natasha or Imrans brother and Lowton motors are all related (IMO)???

Seems to me you have a few choices here, with prices the way they are at the minute you gotta pay more money for a good one, save a few more quid and wait? Or buy the best dog one going and spend the money getting it up to scratch, but you don't know how much you will end up spending so prob could've bought a better one anyway? Or just wait, see what comes up the next couple of months?

Currently my situation and what I'm up to this year (major diabetes flying project) Id be able to afford a good car in 2016 haha I don't mind a car that's legal and road worthy and works but needs some projects done in slow time.
