Ive just been on Autotrader dreaming Id won the lottery and which C3 Corvette Im about to buy, as you do on a Sunday. Just checked out VX220s and prices seem a lot better than last year. I remember seeing NAs changing hands for £5k, with nicer stuff at £7-7.5k. Somethings changed as CAT D stuff is now listed at just under £8k and nicer stuff at £8-9.5k. Could this be the start of increasing prices and will the spring see NAs in good condition valued at £10k+ Turbo are already £12-13k. Which is exactly where they were in Feb 2009 when I bout my NA for £7900

Dealers do seem to have good prices on vx220 unsure of what they actually sell for But IMO the NA prices are climbing probably £1500 in the last 2 years or so But I think the cars which demand the right money are from enthusiastic honest people To people who are worried about finding a lemon which there seems to be a few around at the moment

Bang on the 16500 asking price for the red tubby I've got. Have sold the silver one twice at full asking price but hasnt worked out yet. The na I have at 11500 has some serious interest also at the moment. Three very exceptional cars but shows what is possible for the right cars.

Prices have certainly stabilised and thanks to some positive exposure are showing signs of strengthening. However, there are a couple of higher mileage cars out there at the moment with very ambitious price tags IMO.

There is always a argument that anything with less than 120,000 miles is low mileage from the age of the vx220 most are more than 10 years old now or fast approaching ten years

My 13 yr old na has done 57k, I bought it for 6.5k in September, not a cat car, it needs the paintwork sorting here and there but I'm just gonna give it a full re-spray as a mate is a sprayer, its sound mechanically (touches wood) and has had sensible mods done ie suspension, alloy rad etc, i'm in the middle of refreshing the interior, after it is re-sprayed I wouldnt sell it for less than 8k I reckon maybe more in the summer but I'm not gonna sell it, its mine now and intend on keeping it for a good few years yet, but the prices are definitely rising which is good

...my dear friends....its called basic economics.....demand  vs supply..... **

...as the supply dwindles...and the demand stays the same or increases..the natural law of economics  will see prices hold or go up.

..the opposite if supply outstrips demand...

** as long as the product is in a relatively good condition...

My 128k NA 2003 was about 5k all said and done.

Hoping to increase this value with some improvements, rebuild, respray, engine build, ITB's etc

Hope you are right, I have been holding onto a VXR for years now as my son wanted it, he lives in Norway so we don't get the chance to use it much although I do keep it up and running all the time.

We took it out over the Christmas period and bearing in mind he is now 6'-4" it is too small for him. :angry2:

If you get an Alfa, you'll just be bending into the engine bay to fix it all the time instead ;)

There should be some good news on all cars but it's the low mileage ones that are heading up of course. The VX is the hardest to find a good example of. I would reckon we are maybe 2/3 years from 20k been reasonable for a low mileage turbo and 15 for a good NA.

Prices certainly are looking good. Certainly interesting to me as I got mine 3 1/2 years ago for £7250 with 60,000 miles. It's now on over 100,000 miles, a handful of minor irritants and yet would still probably get over £7000 at sale.
