OK,

Have done loads of searches, but want to canvas opinion.

I am currently about to start a suspension refresh and looked at both Elise parts and Seriously Lotus refresh kits - the Seriously Lotus one being cheaper..

When I had the car MOT'd at Q-Mech this year, Andy recommended using OEM suspension parts as he had seen real issues with cheaper alternatives - but did say he thought Elise Parts stuff was either OEM or as good as....

So how do Seriously Lotus parts compare?  Ay they OEM, or cheaper copies?  And if copies, have people had any issues with them quality wise?

Have learnt the lesson in the past of being cheap, but they are a common name on here so thought I would ask the question...  I don't want to save £100 if there is any compromise in quality between seriously lotus and Elise parts - so are they as good as each other?

Your thoughts...

I have done my suspension refresh a few months ago and got my parts from Seriously Lotus and they came in Lotus packaging if I recall as the invoice had Lotus part numbers on it. And for the low miles I do every year they will do what I want. My mate bought his parts from them for his Elise also and he is very fussy on genuine parts.

I believe the parts all ultimately come from the same suppliers....

I did my recent suspension refresh with the seriously lotus kit. It was the one I was advised to go for. Although I ended up getting the poly bush kit instead of OEM but that was a personal choice.

I fitted the Seriously Lotus kit and have been very happy with it (has been all the way to the 'ring too). Always find their service very good as well.

In a car like the VX, I don't think it made a huge difference to the comfort. I had mine polybushed 2 years ago and have recently had it all apart to replace everything else/inspect things and it is all still in nearly new condition. Done around 8k including 4 or 5 track days and a 2.5k euro trip in it; hasn't worn out nor does it show signs of wear.

I had standard suspension as well.

I think only issues with the poly bushes is that you need to keep them greased with "regular" up keep. I don't know how the new bushes drive yet but hopefully should find out soon :D all going well

I think that was to match these

Has anyone got the Nitron kit?  If so how does it affect ride comfort compared to OEM and poly?

Interesting conversation on different options here. Note the fitting concerns on the nitron bushes, which should be a consideration when choosing. http://www.vx220.org...he-best-option/
