Do any OEM's use a twin inlet port rather than a siamesed port? I've seen it on aftermarkets or exotic race heads but it doesn't seem to be adopted.
Has been done in some form like Vauxhall/GM used it on their twin-port engines in the Corsa's and the like.
Usually have to 'cheat' a little though as they tend to want to use a single injector, so often the two runners do share a single injector in case of a traditional port-injection setup using a section where the two runners have a shared 'raised roof' section. (direct injected engines like some of the CDTI's do have 8 intake ports on the head)
Toyota (and others) have used manifolds in the past with separate runners, often with butterflies/valves in 1 runner to increase air velocity at low load in the 'open' port/channel in the manifold (eg. TVIS system on 3SG(T)E engines).
Mostly done for fuel economy by OEMs at part-load to increase air velocities in the intake port and improve air-fuel mix in the combustion chamber.
Honda's VTEC-E system on the more eco-based engines does a similar thing by keeping 1 of the intake valves closed during part-load (so running it as a 12V engine) and switching to 16V mode in higher load conditions. This gives the same general result but does away with complicated manifold constructions with 8 runners or extra flaps.
Bye, Arno.

Is your cam chain top giud updated? I know I bought a longer (wider) version of this for my Engine
This is to prevent any jumping change atleast on the camgears.
If you want I can see if I still have this partnumber somewhere.
