Honda also offer better parts themselvesThe K20 is difficult to improve I hope it all goes well, a friend of mine took a DC5 integra to a local "tuners" and they bolted a load of parts on, rebuilt it with high compression pistons and a big valve head with cams and when he took it to get mapped it produced less power. Honda did a very good job of these engines but forced induction makes everything better

Which is why I am fitting the Honda jdm cams, Honda Rrc intake manifold Time will tell, a fair amount of research has gone into it and I am not trying to break any records here or pub figures.. If I wanted to do that I would just bolt on a charger and a few other bits and have 360bhp
But that's the norm these days
I totally agree, just because something isn't the most efficient way of doing things doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. We don't drive the cars we do because they're the fastest thing out there for the money. We do it because it makes us happy (and we're a bit mental). Starting a project is the most expensive way of ending up with a car not as good as we could buy if we'd saved it all up and bought something designed by professionals, but we wouldn't get the same satisfaction.
I sometimes think I should have gone down the route you have starting with k20 in a S1 rather than starting something like mine. It's a shame about the lack of space for ITB's they do sound awesome on a vtec.

Sounds like Joe is just treading a previously trodden path once more.
Didn't Kerry go through a period of NA tuning, before sacking it all off and then heading down the SC route.
Einstein has a few very sensible quotes... Though many were never said by him.

Depends how the engine responds to tuning. There's much more reason to be tuning a Honda NA than a Z22SE

I know there is a fair few vxers that wished they stayed Na tuned as the characteristics, reliability and overall fun was more with the Na.
Oh yes. More fun and much more rewarding.

Not in my experience. I had more reliability issues with the TMS "tuned" NA. I've not had as much as EML since you going to SC compared to the limp mode every nearly every time I accelerated with the NA until we binned the 68mm throttle body.

So far my favourite setup is stage 3 sc But stage 2 £for £ is best I'm not saying I don't like where I am now but I've not been able to extract the best from it I'm hoping my current setup after even more £s will be a lot better next year But I have to be honest I've never had any reliable issues with any of my setups other than a coil pack plug I think I may of been lucky But it's been reliable .. How your lotus been joe ?

Even when I killed the engine at Silverstone, it was the end of the night and the car still got me home. Only thing that's stopped me doing a trackday was self-inflicted (well, now I think about it, you were responsible for that too). Major league hangover.

I made it home from Holland with no brakes... That proves the lotus is strong!! As soon as I got to england I engaged techie mode and didn't care
Not really as they are the same brakes as a VX
