Stop mucking around Joe.

Here is your new engine.

http://www.motorspor...0&listing=35480

could you get that in a vx and run it with a stand alone ecu..???

I think the amount of challanges could be comparable to the sweed putting in a V10 in his S2.

May I ask you how much space you have between your oilpan and under panels and what oilpan you have? Br, Per

Anyway here it is:

Looks like some big plans. So is if you selling the calipers on eBay with the handbrake attachment, would they fit a vx?

right so work has begun.. vocky popped over so we cracked on

first step was to remove subframe as the engine cannot be removed without it.. to be honest the intake manifold cant even be removed without taking the engine out  unless you get rid of the stupid studs.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

i am reusing the block so the old engine needs to be stripped

Posted Image

Posted Image

then it was time to remove that god awful silver crap and cut a bulkhead as the new manifold etc wont fit as the old standard manifold hits thee bulkhead, luckily i still have my vx bulkhead so i will reshape and fit that :D (4th vx part that will be on the loti if anyone is counting :D )

Posted Image

luckily all of this is happening to be honest the previous owner was a bit weird.. all the bolts where either extremely tight and i mean tight!! or they where just nipped. or the odd bolt missing

the clutch was dead

oil filter was hand tight

belt tensioner bearing is dead

it has stainless steel exhaust bolts (great!!!) but standard rusty bolts that arent so great :(

anyways, off to walk the dog and then settle down for the evening with a hot air gun and a scraper to get that silver foil/foam off the chassis/bulkhead YAY!!

ps: I have a strong dislike for Honda engines :ffs:

pps: how heavy is a Honda gearbox

ppps: you need the Honda just to move the extra weight of the gearbox

Wow, this is a big project, best of luck. At least it is raining non stop in the UK so you don't feel bad that it's off the road :)
