Blyton haven't actually been told any sort of noise limits. They have set them so if the council say anything they already Have them in place.

The only person trying to complain is some fcuking chicken farmer. They have only recently introduced the drive by, they still don't test static.

When I first joined this forum years ago, everyone wanted a loud exhaust. Circuits were "flexible" with static testing. I was often told that I scrapped through static testing, but I knew they'd let me off & allowed me on track.

I now want a quieter car. Bedford & Donny are my targets for this year...  Donny, as I've never driven there & Bedford because several friends of mine would like a go behind the wheel & it's the safest circuit I know of.

I'd love a 9000 rpm screecher, but that's just trouble. Mine tops out at 6900, I'd love another 500 or so as I could do with a bit more flexibility.

I'd imagine that there will be far more pressure on circuits to lower noise levels in the future, it will surely happen! Joe, you may have to cover your car fully in bubble wrap to keep the noise down in the future or maybe even now?

There still is an old "no sound check" track out there - it's called mid Wales and Scoootland ;)

Nev,

Alas, my car is not road legal & never will be. I don't drive mad fast on the roads these days, probably because I'm getting older or perhaps wiser?. My old Aston was just too loud on most long journeys even in quiet mode. Neighbours would know when I was within half a mile of coming home.

I've always been miles under the static sound test and never been warned on driveby. The old engine revved to 7600 so will be interesting to see whether I need a bigger silencer or not I'm like you, I'm old and want it quiet!

My 7 sounds insanely loud inside and ear plugs are a must (as the exhaust is about a foot away from my head) but it static tests at 92db. Donny is one of the great tracks, you will love it. Lots of high speed commitment, elevation changes and technical sections. Think Cadwell but bigger with a bit of Oulton thrown in.
