It's not causing the vtec issue but whilst undertrays and sheer panel is off might as well change it as I have suspects it's played up a little

New throttle cable and fuel filter even though the one fitted has only done a couple hundred miles...

'Motorsport' fuel filter usually means crap filtration

Hopefull this is just a rebadged OEM one?

OEM fuel filters are cheap, will flow plenty of fuel and you'll be certain that it's not letting through any dirt that can damage or clog the injectors.

I'm all for power/performance upgrades, but when it comes to air/oil/fuel 'motorsport' filters they are in many cases not meant/desgined to be used for longer time on a road car and will let through big dirt particles. That's an acceptable tradeoff on a race engine that gets stripped down and cleaned/refurbed each year anyway and barely runs 20-30 hours in a full race season though..

Up to each individual though to decide what to use or not use on their car  thumbsup

Bye, Arno.

It's a rebadged oem one I believe bud

Spoke to stark automotive (who the kit originally come from) and managed to get them to send original gaskets out as I was unable to buy the correct ones

So cracked on for a couple hours tonight and managed to fit the following:

Filled the tank up with v power and changed fuel filter
Shear panel
Handbrake cable
Gear cables
Air filter
Oil pressure switch
Both exhaust gaskets
Chassis earth strap - the rivnut was spinning and badly rusted

Also tested it started, the new fuel pump is VERY quiet B)

Also whilst I was there I cleaned everything because dirt = weight

took the car on a good 10min blast  (vtec used to cut out on 3rd time of using it)

with new laptop plugged in so was able to see the data, all seems to be normal but i dont have the problem anymore...

however i did get a error code towards the end of the drive and it detected high voltage tps which i new it was getting. Going to have a play with this in the morning to try and get the 113% down to 100%

but hey.. fingers crossed changing everything seems to have solved the problem

Oh and btw s2 throttle cable is exactly the same length outer tube but inner cable is 65mm shorter I found this out after I had removed the cable and interior :beat:

The moment you spend loads of money replacing everything and it turns out to be a crappy sensor  Oh well going to get it remapped for the new filter/tailpipes and get the map checked as I suspect my fuel pump was definitely dying!

If your using the original Honda throttle cable bracket you'll need to modify the cable no matter which one you fit, your current cable has most likely been modified. The distance between the inner & outer cable is different between the Honda, Rover & Toyota setups.
