Just got insurance from Henderson Taylor, £462 with £400 road excess and £1500 track excess. They want me to provide a car valuation report. Has anyone else had to do this?

Yes I have as they have given me a agreed pay out value.

I have had to supply bills for all  work and mods carried out with photo proof .

I can understand that, where did you get your valuation from?

Maybe they're tightening up, I also have to send 6 current photos of the car. Got 30 days to do this which is good because my headlights are out at the moment.

It was based on the market value what VX220 2.2 SC are selling for plus the extras that have been spent on the car , In my case a lot . 😂

If you didn't go for the agreed value then you wouldn't have gone through this. Matt has sorted a new reg on my car and some track days. All good service so far......

Does anyone know if the cover includes recovery if you have a big smash? I forgot to ask.

just about to renew my insurance and I'm considering HTmainly because of their TD coverage. They say max of 6 TD's uk or EU after which you can pay an additional premium at around .5% of the value of the car for extra TD's. How are people finding them and has anyone had to make a claim through them?

I've made no claim but my Henderson Taylor policy includes unlimited track days.

So this has been running for over a year now and my insurance is due again, but having gone through all this again it seems that-

Henderson Taylor -

Say unlimited track days but actual documentation says 5.

They give no confirmation about track days booked. So do they keep official track of days done and how would you be able to argue if they don't send any written confirmation or agreement on a track day?

Your not covered with the roof off??

There seems a general lack of paperwork and thus, an inability to look at the small print?

I was all ready to go with these people as so many of the people I know have, but am a bit wary?

Please feel free to make me feel more comfortable with the idea, in particular how many trackdays have people had 'confirmed' in writing that they can do and be covered?

the trackdays depends on what you have asked for as HT use two underwriters , iirc Eagle Red Star are the one for unlimited TD's , or that might have been people on the original policy , maybe things have changed for new custom.

Matt has always confirmed I'm covered via email, each time I've bothered to inform him

First I've heard. Never been mentioned to me before in the last 5 years.

Full policy and certificate available electronically, if you ask for it.

Are you worried because they are so competitively priced? I have an email confirmation from Matt saying it's unlimited track days. So far I have done 5 since October and just booking my 6th and Matt confirms I'm booked each time.

Regarding track days. When talking to Matt before taking the policy out, he told me 6 TDs as long as the TDO's were on the approved list. When the docs came through it quite clearly said 5. I queried it with Matt and he said no it's 6 and I said that's not what the policy docs say. So what if I have a prang on track day no.6? You'll be alright he said. He went on to say that the insurer never seems to check how many TDs youve had and so you could have more! Needless to say I have none of this in writing. Should I have need of a 6th track day then I will be wanting something from the insurer to say I'm covered, not a nod and a wink from Matt. So Gaffer I suggest you read your policy docs to confirm you have unlimited TD's, and if you have why haven't I???

All my questions were based on what I had read on the pages of this posting.

Have asked for a quote.
